Diffused selfie
Mais um dia 💡
Out of morbid curiosity I spent Sunday afternoon training an AI model on my face by following this article. I was a little shocked at just how easy it is to get Stable Diffusion running using Easy Diffusion, so now I can make infinite unfiltered, Craiyon-esque nightmare images locally to my heart's content. It's not Midjourney 5 quality by a long shot, but you can do a lot better than the horros I posted above.
I'm still not sure how I feel about this. I share the ethical concerns about what training sets were used for these image models, but at the same time I'm using Chat GPT more and feel less conflicted about the text based training sets which feels hypocritical. I am now following a few artists on Instagram using AI to make interesting work, but I'm not sure if I'll post much myself due to aforementioned ethical concerns and from an aesthetic perspective a lot of it very quickly feels flat and "samey".
Anyway, I now have a folder with 500 pictures of me as an astronaut and I didn't even need to pay for Lensa like everyone did for a week a few months ago. In other news, gonna make an appointment with a plastic surgeon to ask if they can make my hands look fucked up because AI gave me dysmorphia.
