Paps realizes that the human is very intent on trying to beat the Gauntlet Of Deadly Terror, as they keep on repeating it. Paps keeps pulling them out once their HP becomes dangerously low, prompting Player/Frisk to load up a SAVE file until they’re satisfied.

Papyrus is glad that the human is being kept interested by this, but is also a bit concerned, wondering if he’s gotten himself stuck in a new loop.

Or this makes no sense at all idk it’s 2 am lmaoo just a thought.

Existential Crisis AU early brainstorm doodles! A lot of doodle scenarios, how the au possibly started (flowey causing it is a scrapped idea but he still has a big role in this au) papyrus going through emotional and mental turmoil due to the numerous resets he’s gone through, and then finally papyrus wardrobe change in one of the epilogues (Endless Genocide to be exact) which is the most mentally excruciating resets………yeah papyrus goes through a lot in this au 😭

I'm standing around at work thinking about this AU and now I'm imagining that Paps and Sans have a conversation about keeping secrets.

Like Sans keeps asking what's wrong or saying he's there to listen or "you can tell me anything bro" and it just happens to get asked at a time where EC! Papyrus is reeling really bad and he just a absolutely SNAPS

"OH, SO IT'S OKAY FOR YOU TO KEEP SECRETS FROM ME MOST OF MY LIFE BUT WHEN I HAVE KNE THEN IT'S A PROBLEM?"

"No paps i-"

"YOU'VE ALWAYS ASKED ME NOT TO WORRY ABOUT. SAID IT WASN'T ANYTHING THAT I SHOULD WORRY ABOUT! EVEN WHEN IT HRTS ME TO NOT KNOW IVL'VE BEEN RESPECTFUL OF YOUT BOUNDARIES SANS!"

aw poor paps. Hmm as much as I’d love to see papyrus snap like this (and honestly he has every reason to loose it) but he wouldn’t go as far as disrespect his brothers privacy. in the au, when he’s really upset, like in this scenario here, his frustration would quickly die down and immediately retract everything he says, “YOU KNOW WHAT, ITS NOTHING, SORRY FOR ACTING OUT LIKE THAT ITS…BEEN REALLY STRESSFUL…” sans would easily forgive papyrus and they’d both talk it out. They love and respect each other dearly, hurting each other is the last thing they’d ever want to do. Especially Papyrus. Even though he’s been through so many resets, and has every reason to get upset and lash out at sans, he still knows better. It’s frustrating, it’s hard at times but even through it all, even though sans might not completely understand what he’s going through, that’s still his brother. They always have each other’s backs
