Hiya! I have a question about the word "like" - not "piace" though!

I'm talking about like, you know how in English we have this word "like" and you use it in like 300 different ways without realizing it, like you can be like, "Man, "like" is like the most ubiquitous word EVER!"

Does Italian have any sort of equivalent? :D

Well I think one we use in the same way of like could be "ecco" (=exactly, here you have, there you are, uhm, I see - check these posts 1 | 2). I think "ma" (=but) is another versatile word: we use it also to stress questions (Ma cosa mi stai dicendo! = What the hell are you telling me!). It can be found also as "mah" (=Idk) but mostly when you are expressing a doubt/thinking. Some other words could be "tipo" (=like, almost) or "cioè" (=i.e.). We tend to use a lot of interjections/filler words when talking, and some of them do actually have a meaning of their own (like "like" does). Here some post reblogged and made about filler words, just in case, but my vote as one of the most versatile Italian words goes to "ecco". :)

On Chirrut: this in NO way excuses the decision,you are totally right about there needing to be proper representation with ACTUAL support for visually impaired actors- but chirrut originally wasn't blind, the actor suggested it after he got the role.

He did? Well while I applaud Lucas Films on trying to be more supportive of representation, it’s disappointing that the actor thought it was a good idea to play being blind. Mainly as it’s hard enough for actually visually impaired people to be even considered for a role with their disability, nevertheless get a role.

as for another video one, i wasn’t aware there was a video one? i only knew of the visual one of the ART performance, and that was deleted a while ago
