Until We Meet Again.
“And I don’t want to hear anymore arguments about it.”
The old woman said in a stern, ragged voice. Tamaki nodded his head cheerfully, as always; though his expression was a bit downcast. It wasn’t really the request she was giving him, but to be spoken and looked down in such a way by your own grandmother; it took a toll on someone.
“Of course.” He said, shaking his blond head a bit in reply to his grandmother’s wishes. “I have no problem with making the phone call.” Tamaki answered in a child-like voice. He was a bit baffled by the notion though, why did his grandmother want him making a call to the Tonnerre family back in France.
It seemed a little too close to home, especially if his grandmother; the one who despised him for being who he was, the result of an ill-fated love encounter. “But.” Tamaki began and the old woman stared right back at Tamaki with unmoving, grey eyes.
Tamaki saw the solemn expression on the woman’s face and decided to drop it. Standing up to his full height, Tamaki gave his grandmother a dramatic bow; hoping one day his manners would win the approval of the old matriarch of the Suou family. The only reaction he gained was a moment of silence before she turned on her heels, and walked of his room.
Flopping himself down onto his bed with a sigh, Tamaki had no idea how he was going to even go about doing this. He had no dealings, personally, with the Tonnerre family. None that he could think of, aside from that quick visit Éclair had paid Tamaki last year during the Ouran Fair.
And he didn’t make much of an effort to keep in touch, he didn’t think he needed to; he assumed everything was said and done on the matter. He supposed this must be some way his grandmother was teaching him how to keep connections with those who benefitted the family; similar to the Ootori family and Kyoya’s father’s constant need to keep strong connections.
“I guess it wouldn’t hurt...to say hello.” Tamaki said with a slight shrug as he ran his nimble fingers through his bangs. As he got up from his bed and crossed the room to the elegantly crafted phone, Tamaki paused with his hand on the receiver before he took a deep breath and lifted the phone to his ear.
With slow fingers, Tamaki dialed the number one digit at a time until all he could hear was the soft ring of the phone on the other side.
And so he waited for an answer, with baited breath as he tried to desperately come up with something to say.
I'll have to respectfully decline.
"Well Miss Eclair, if you ever change your mind, you know where to find me. Heheheh..."

Hello, Eclair.
How unexpected it is to hear from you. It has been some time--at least two or three years now?
