[Review] Innisfree Eco Ice Head Cooler and Cooling Gel
Heyyo! Innisfree released(or rereleased) their eco ice set for the summer. They are supposed to help cool your body without the having to resort to using an air conditioner. The full line also includes an essence, but I didn't need another essence, so I just got the two fun items: The Innisfree Eco ice Head Cooler and the Eco Ice Body Cooling Gel! Being able to cool your body down 9 degrees in seconds sounds amazing for the summer, (and the fall if you live in Texas haha) . So do these products do the job? or are they just more skincare gimmicks?
Innisfree Eco Ice Head Cooler
The head cooler has a weird pronged applicator for massaging maybe? The cooling foam is puffed out from the hole in the middle.
I could not find any English translation for the ingredients, but there is what Innisfree calls "green complex" in these products [Jeju green tea, tangerine, cactus, camellia leaves, and orchid extracts]
You're supposed to actually press it against your head and it sends a spray of cool mist/gel. You definitly feel the sudden change in temperature in that one spot. You have to apply to like 5 areas to get your entire head cooled. The effects don't last long-around 10 minutes before it felt like before again. Also this leaves stuff in your hair...it does dry out to be unnoticeable. It doesn't really ruin your hairstyle unless you apply it everywhere.
Lastly, I'm not sure if you want to do this in public, you'll get some questionable stares haha.
Yes, you have to press it into your scalp
In the end, it does do what it claims in a sense that it does make me feel cooler in the one spot, but it's not much more than a novelty item since the effects do not last long. I personally find it fun, but to be fair, it doesn't do much and I much prefer air conditioning haha.
Innisfree Eco Ice Body Cooling Gel
Pretty much all in Korean
Nice ol' pump nozzle
Same as before;Could not find the full ingredients; There is "green complex" in these products [Jeju green tea, tangerine, cactus, camellia leaves, and orchid extracts]
This cooling gel is actually really cool[pun intended]. It is pretty much the same stuff as the head cooler, but you can play around with it a lot more. It comes out as a carbonated fizzy foam that sizzles. You can hear it actually make sizzling and popping sounds as you rub it in your skin. Kinda cool. It's super cold when you apply it, but just like the head cooler...the effects do not last long- ten minutes. I think it's just nice if you want some instant relief. Also, don't use these if you have any cuts. It kinda stings :'(
Here is gif of it in action; watch it move :O
The sizzling sound it makes lasts a while.
In the end, this is head cooler, but better, because it is more fun to apply. I keep these at desk and play with them randomly, but that's it. Just fun novelty items from the world of Asian cosmetics.
I think the concept is fun, but the execution was lacking. What other kinds of cooling products have you guys tried/recommend?
