🌹╰ dark circles had settled beneath her eyes. one of the many visual indications that she is both overworked and unrested. another was the waitressing uniform she was wearing despite having not been at work since the previous night.  ❛ i     i need help. ❜ with that, she moves the bundle she had been holding toward them, unraveling it just a bit to reveal three kittens no bigger than her fist clinging to one another,  ❛ i     i found them last night while i was taking out the garbage at work. ❜ her voice wobbles and eyes fill with tears as she explained,  ❛ s-some     some awful, terrible person must’ve dumped them there. i    i brought them home with me last night to try and warm them up and     and the other two started moving but the third one won’t no matter what i try. i     i think he’s dying. ❜ tears stream down her cheeks at the thought,  ❛ i     i don’t know w-what else to do. ❜

“You want me to hack the what!? Do you have any idea of what you’re asking of me, parce?”

Naturally, Jorge was wary. He didn’t do private jobs very often, only when he needed some quick cash to pay for his room or some last minute groceries. He could do it, of course, if only for the challenge it presented, but it would take just a little bit more convincing for him to jump aboard.

“Okay, mira, you tell me why you wanna do this and if it’s a good enough reason, I’ll do it.”

             「 🎄 」― ❛ hey uh     caid, can i ask you something ? ❜ this nervous energy rising within her was quite strange. they were roommates      friends, even ! however, the smallest, most mundane interactions between them as of late, made her heart race. ❛      there’s this winter village thing going on downtown. ❜ she began, ❛ there are little shops, ice skating and food. and      i-i was wondering, if you wanted to check it out        t-together ? ❜

         🌹 — ah, to be young and in love. to be young and only a few days from being           married, it was a strange yet lovely feeling. almost as if she were floated but           somehow still grounded. with everything planned and booked; venue, food,           music and flowers. everything had fallen pretty much perfectly into  place.            all they had to do now was say ‘i do’ right?  

          not quite. in the middle of the day, juliet gets a call from home. her biological           mother jabbers excitedly in french about finally conquering her fear of planes            to come see her only daughter tie the knot. that was great news !! exciting            news, even. which is why she runs to her fiancé. smile glowing as she says,            ❛ my mother’s coming! my     my biological mother. from france. ❜

🌹 — although the good days had been outweighing the bad day as of late, the bad days  weren’t completely eradicated and when they came, they hit H A R D. that morning, she  could barely get herself out of bed, waking up feeling an unspeakable amount of DREAD  but, in her increased effort to be more optimistic, she went to work anyway. though, she   didn’t even make it there.     (  frozen  ) in the middle of a crosswalk, car horns BLARING.  it was all just     too much, too much. 

 and just like that, the BAD DAY eats her alive. she’s curled up on the couch. her frame  wrapped in a blanket, still trembling from the disastrous morning. the television plays in  the back though, she isn’t paying much attention to it.  

   ❛     s-should i see a therapist? ❜

      🌹 — not being able to sleep through the night had stopped being a surprise and rather        had morphed into a inconvenience. didn’t ptsd have other things to attend to? didn’t it        have vacation days to cash  in? could she just sleep for one night? such a question is        answered as she bursts awake, chest heaving. it takes a for her eyes to adjust to the        darkness. catching her breath, she pulls herself out of bed. bare feet pad down the hall        toward caid’s room. there’s a moment of hesitation, wondering if it were too late or too        early to be bothering him with this, ❛     h-hey... ❜ a hand pushes the door open, revealing        just a sliver of the dark, ❛ are you awake? ❜
