ED Films RUMOURS 2013! (Part One)
Hello subscribers and followers,
Let me begin by confirming to you that I’m not an idiot. I am aware that very few, if any, people will read this blog post. However, I am just putting it out there.
This year has seen a less frequent production of short films, but the quality has noticeably surpassed its quantity (as you can view for yourself with the ‘Looking Back at 2012’ video on our YouTube channel).
I can confirm that this Saturday will see the beginning of the filming of “Pursuing Closure", which has been in the works for a couple of months. This film may not be as short as most we make, but will more than likely be less than a typical feature film length. The reason for this timing decision? Well, the fact of the matter is that a proper story cannot be told in just five minutes. Sure, beautiful and artistic short films can be made that bear meaningful messages, but this is where, more often than not, the significance of timing is immense.
However, this blog post is fundamentally regarding rumours, not confirmations. So, without further ado, here are some. On a side note, a small proportion of these rumours will definitely lead to something, whether it has a direct or indirect contribution.
- Penultimate Destination 3
Well, well, well. What have we here? Could there be yet another instalment to the extremely satirical franchise? Indeed, the first Penultimate Destination (PD) was a critical success garnering 4.5k views and a decent like to dislike ratio. Individuals have come up to me very often - still 7 months later - proclaiming their love of Dante’s very disagreeably agreeable phrase, “It’s cause I’m black" or rather aptly, “I died first…cause I’m black". This is funny because he is in fact mixed race and seems to be unaware of it, and also we have to admit that in horror films, there is a large favouritism to killing off the black guy first. The second film, PD2, is double the length, double the stupidity, but half the views of the first in the series. Now…here’s something…everyone was killed in the first movie so how could you possibly make a sequel? Well, we still pulled it off, even though it could be considered a nonsensical waste of 12 minutes with no resemblance to the hit horror franchise. Alternatively, one could see it as an intelligently bad mockery of the film. Two kinds of people. Anyway, back to the point. The sequel was funny, but retarded. So, how about a prequel? Think about it.
PART 2 coming very soon.
