Titania, Queen of the faeries

Steadfast as mountains, Pliant like clay. Daughter of Titans. Mother of Fae.

Call her Titania, Or Modron or Rheia. Her name might be Opis, Or Mat Syra Zemlya.

Leto or Ymir? Tiamat, Demeter? Cares not what you call her, She’ll settle with either.

Her skin is all wrinkled. Her teats are all cracked. Her eyes have gone cloudy. Her hair all fell out.

She's haute as she's old, She's hoary as she's wise, She's canny as she's tender And warm as she's proud.

Most of her children have all left and grown. Her nest has laid brise quite some time. So she embraces each soul that seeks for her help With her bony, spindle-like hands.

She nurtures the one that listens and prays With sustenance, health and advice And with utmost attention she watches them play With her dusty ichorous eyes.

But keep your ears open, Hold tongue taut Least you disrespect her And bring forth her wrath.

For the Earth that once birthed you Might seem safe, quaint and droll. Yet, if you dare vex her She will swallow you whole.
