Behold - the Mando'a Dictionary, now properly armored!

My first attempt at this style was just the testing ground to bind this piece - and it turned out wonderfully!

The endpaper is chiyogami, and the cover is made with thin aluminium sheets wrapped around 1mm board, glued on top of the bookcloth (and slightly clamped around the edges) The spine is hot-foiled, and I am getting a feel for that as well, it looks passable.

It's the perfect pocketsize so I can always have it handy - I actually made this so I can better sprinkle in some foreign words when I am roleplaying a mando in Star Wars TTRPG.

My first try at the binding style "Der gebrochene Rücken" - and my third attempt at hot foiling! Things were learned and material knowledge was gained.

My goal is to do this same book again but up the difficulty of the cover design - stay tuned.

The less said about the actual making of this book the better.

I am starting a new job in January, and for all the notes I need to write down for it, I made myself this little dot-grid-notebook.

The cloth is selfmade (filled) and the pink paper was one of my first purchases for bookbinding, meant for another project I never actually started.

I bound Alice's Adventures in Wonderland, typeset by in_D Press (Canon). It is A5 sized, the original typeset was for halfletter so I cut off a lot of excess at the sides - but that worked nicely to shape the book.

The Endpaper (and paper onlay) were from a batch of marble paper i bought ages ago, when I had just started out in this hobby. I have never felt "good enough" to use it before - but for this I finally got over myself and pulled it out.

I was most hesitant about cutting the rose into it so the red bookcloth shines through, but everything worked out wonderfully! Even if i misused the wrong tool for it, hehe.

I am very proud of this one !!

A bradelbind empty notebook that I experimented a bit with. The endpapers are made from paper tablemats and the bookcloth is self-made with the filling technique (I immortalized two of my cats hairs in it that I just noticed)

I am very pleased with how it came out!

Three Badel Binds

These three blank page notebooks (done with bradel binding) were made for three of my friends - with the excuse they can use it for notetaking during ttrpg sessions!

I actually just wanted to practice this binding style before I tackled any of the fanfics I wanted to bind - including the rebinding of saltandbee's fanfic as an author copy!

I learned a lot during the making of these tree - and I aquired more equipment, including a nipping press and a finishing press! (Secondhand)

My personal favorite: all the boards are staying flat ♥

A Delta Green inspired Bradel Bind empty notebook, for a giveaway at the next ttrpg community meetup.

I experimented for the first time with painted edges for this, and I found that it was quite doable!

In fact I used this one to experiment a bit overall, I cut the edges with my boxcutter - a bit wonky at that width, but it worked. Then I sanded the edges down (I was a bit impatient so there are still some rough spots) and once sanded, I painted the edges.

Hello all,

I can now finally post this because this book (plus an extra friendship bracelet) has made its way to its new owner

this is my first "re"bind of a book I've done, specifically because the author @saltandbees asked me for a copy and my perfectionism kicked in! Im overjoyed to send out my first author copy!!

I've bound this little fic a few times over the course of making this book, including a sad copy currently on my bookshelf that I cased in badly and thus is a bit awkward to open - good enough for me, but definitely not to send the author

I learned quite a lot doing this, and I'm super happy with how good the paper label came out, since I drew it by hand!
