incomplete masterpost of webseries containing girls who like girls

this is companion post to this gifset, which I made mostly because I wanted to make a gifset with the lyrics to Hayley Kiyoko’s girls like girls, but also because I feel like a lot of people don’t know that there’s a ton of webseries out there with pretty great representation of queer female characters that you can watch (mostly) for free online, so this is basically just to let people know about them. I’ve also included another five webseries that I wasn’t able to use in the gifset

(some of these also have other lgbtq+ representation, but my requirement for including shows in this post was that they have at least one female character who is lgbtq+)

Squaresville 

Two best friends living in a small town, trying to figure themselves out. Kylie Sparks (kyliesparks27) plays Esther - especially in the second season, Esther’s storyline revolves around coming to terms with her identity and telling her best friend Zelda that she thinks she’s gay. Til Lease Do Us Part

Comedy about a couple who are forced to live together after they break up until their lease runs out.  (thegaywomenchannel)

The March Family Letters

An adaptation of Little Women - I haven’t actually watched this, but I follow a lot of people who have and I’ve heard good things. If I recall correctly, it has a canonically bi/pan character as well as a canonically asexual character. (themarchfamilyletters)

An adaptation of J. Sheridan LeFanu’s novella of the same name, that starts with a girl in a strange university who is determined to find her missing roommate. (carmillaseries)

Lovely Little Losers 

Inspired by the Shakespeare play ‘Love’s Labours Lost’. It’s also a sequel to Nothing Much to Do, and adaptation of Much Ado About Nothing, so you might want to watch that first. (It’s quite a while before Paige and Chelsea are introduced, but there are a couple of other queer characters before that - Hero’s parents, although they never appear on screen; and Pedro/Peter and Balthazar)  (thecandlewasters)

Classic Alice

A college girl, Alice, tries to live her life according to classic novels and document it in videos. Her roommate, Cara, and Cara’s girlfriend Lily end up getting wound up in Alice’s project. (classic-alice)

This is a series made in and set in Quebec, so it’s in French, but there are English subtitles! Focuses on group of young lesbian and bi women and their relationships.

This is actually a TV show, but I think it might also be available to watch online (at least to kickstarter backers), so I’m counting it as a webseries. (watchtheswitch)

Couple-ish

“A new LGBTQ+ webseries about dates, mates, and faking out the government.” (from the kickstarter page) Two roommates pretend to be married so that one of them won’t get deported. Created by the wonderful Kaitlyn Alexander (kbearluna), who you might recognise from their role as LaFontaine in Carmilla. (coupleish)

Carmilla is great and all but I still feel really sad that Edge of Normal never got a 2nd season
