The Flower Festival, a well-known staple in the small town of Edgewater. Every year, on the last weekend in September, botanist enthusiast from all around the state come to show off their prized flowers. They are displayed on the street for the community’s viewing pleasure and to be purchased. Other booths are also erected for community bonding as well as to raise money for charity. 

All flowers used for games and fun are provided for by The Secret Garden, so be sure to send them your love. 

There will be a parade, arches and just about any flowery creation that comes to mind.

Entertainment will be provided for grown-ups and the littles alike. There will be drinks, food, and music while children can play in the decorated town’s center under the watchful eye of their parents. There is, of course, the Sweetheart Booth where you can leave an anonymous (or not!) request for a flower bouquet arrangement to be sent to your sweetheart or potential sweetheart. 

We will also be posting a fun little gift and surprise for all members in the group the night before the event begins!

This event will take place September 25th-27th in game time. However, it will run for a week (September 25th-Octorber 1st) so that threads can be fully played out.

We are excited and hope everyone will have fun! :)

THINGS TO DO –

Leave an anonymous flower bouquet that would be delivered to the person requested.

Take a date to the hay bale maze - a screening of  'Casablanca’ will be had after sunset in the center (bring your own blanket).

If your character is a business owner, have them have a booth at the Festival to represent their business. Bar owners would have drinks and food, jewelry maker would have displays of their work etc.toy & kink wear would have their tamer options on display (crops, collars, etc).  

Volunteer to take a shift on the booths - all the money would go to charity so participation from any and all is encouraged (send an ask to the main to reserve a spot for your character):

NIGHT EVENTS

Outlaw Karaoke Night - As the town is filling with people, the Outlaw holds a customary Karaoke night. Drinks are two for one for everybody wearing a flower crown.

THE STREETS OF EDGEWATER have been turned into a haunted walkway, no longer accessible to those travelling by anything other than foot. Store fronts have been decorated to the extreme, each shop vying for the committee’s best decorated -- though nothing seems to hold a candle to Town Hall which has been turned into this year’s main attraction: The Haunting of Edgewater. The once proud mansion no longer represents the welcoming and warmth that Edgewater strives to represent.  It looks as if Town Hall hasn’t been occupied in centuries, windows are smashed, shutters falling from their place on the walls, cobwebs and skeletons that look far too real decorate the pathway. What waits inside is no better, lights cannot be lit, the floor creaks with each step, and party goers must face the tricks before they can the treat.

Other activities for the Halloween Carnival (which is only one night in game, but lasts from the 21st of October to 1st of November) include: Hall of Mirrors, 21+ Halloween Dance, Haunted Graveyard Walk, Ghost Stories by Campfire, Block Party on Main Street.

Hello wonderful players! We have decided to offer optional prompts for anyone interested or in need of some Halloween inspiration. Please comment below whether you would like a TRICK or a TREAT and the admin team will send you a random prompt for the party! Tricks may put your characters into some sticky situations!

DEAR EDGEWATER CITIZENS,

In celebration of our wonderful town and the crisp fall air, we invite you all to begin your Fall and Halloween festivities early! The Events Committee will be around next Wednesday, October 14th to judge and make their decisions on who has the best and most festive house! Will this be the year that someone can dethrone the mayor?! 

We’re also happy to announce that both the Ruiz and Heartland families have generously opened up their properties for Hayrides this year! Hayrides will be from 4pm-10pm each night from today (October 7th) until next Wednesday (October 14th) and do not require a sign up. Grab a special someone, your family, or even a group of friends and spend the evening on a horse drawn hayride through some of Edgewaters most beautiful properties! Join the Ruiz’s for a haunted walk about the back woods or maybe spend the evening swapping ghost stories and hot apple cider with the Heartlands! Or, if you’re feeling brave, do both!

Hello Players! To kick off our October celebration, we are starting with some light and fun plots. Keep in mind that this years celebrations have been rushed into opening to distract all citizens from the influx of construction crews. We highly encourage our sceptical and suspicious citizens to use this as a plotting point. 

If you want to get your blog all decked out for Halloween you are more than welcome to, but it is not a requirement. The “Decorating Competition” is meant to be a fun way to engage in some new and spoopy threads -- are you hating on Mrs. Darcy for always putting on the best spooky light show? Scrambling because the stores are running out of fake spider web? This is 100% just to have fun!!

                                     OCTOBER CELEBRATION EVENT

The dust flies around town as construction crews begin to flood Edgewater. The Trailer Park and Independence Inn become overcrowded, the only locations offering lodging to the men and women working on behalf of the mysterious buyer. To try and placate (distract) the locals, the Town Council announces the Annual Edgewater Halloween Fest will begin early and last the entire month. Main Street is quickly covered in pumpkins, skeletons, and anything the committee could find. 

Locals are encouraged to decorate their homes, offices, and anything they think needs to be spook-ified. The schedule of events is as follows (more information pertaining to all events will be posted throughout the month):

OCTOBER 7th-14th: DECORATING & HAYRIDES

OCTOBER 14th-21st: CORN MAZE & PUMPKIN PATCH

OCTOBER 21st-NOVEMBER 1st: HALLOWEEN CARNIVAL

19:40 - The anonymous outbidding: a town representative will reconvene all of the known information that has been made available since the buyout. 

20:30 - Ideas and suggestions for fundraising the $1,000 renovation  cost of the William Anderson Museum Home.

21:10 - The continued vandalism of the Edgewater town sigh.

22:20 - Open floor for suggestions, questions and concerns.

Town meetings are an age old, well loved tradition in Edgewater. We have chosen it as an opening event to start off with something light and easy so people can get used to their characters and build on connections with others in a setting that gives them a reason to meet, talk, argue and catch up. 

ADMINS ENCOURAGE:

Have your character express concern about the anonymous buyout: how much of the town has been bought, who owns the land now, is their job secure, their home?

If your character is a business owner: have them volunteer their business with ideas for the town fundraising. Can they offer catering, can the fundraising event be held there?

Does your character have an idea for the fundraising? Have they been recently  out of town and seen an interesting approach there? Basket auction with a date? Handcrafts bazaar? 

Have your character start an argument: do they think the Town Selectman is wasting everybody’s time with the supposed “vandalism“ on the town sign?

Or is your character simply there to eat the free snacks on the back roll and mock everyone there.
