China Music Radar, EDM piece
China Music Radar, a wide ranging source covering much of what is happening across the country (and if you remember also unwittingly gave me a boost in exposure by writing a blog about my blog) has shared a piece covering the #EDM festival. While electronic music isn't necessarily my gig or even something that I can claim to know an awful lot about, certainly I hope with this blog to be able to reach beyond just fans of rock music and hope that there's something for everyone in here and so it's well worth checking out their article with a view to seeing what it's all about The main thing I find striking, especially from reading the comments at the end of piece, is how festivals such as these often come hand in hand with major corporate branding (Budweiser in this case).....then again, not that rock in China isn't guilty of the same thing - what's the difference between that and a band like Candyshop for instance doing a gig inside an upmarket shopping centre to promote the latest the big brand in fashion? Or worse, bringing it to YYT as they did once before.
Anyways, a simple point on etiquette in that CMR kindly asked me if I'd be willing to share this piece and get it out there to a wider audience, which is always a nice thing so of course I agreed to it (I think in the past, my own Twitter etiquette, in hope of a repost, was laughably presumptuous and would tag people accordingly. This really amounts to no more than spamming - another separate piece of etiquette will come soon!).
Anyways, CMR in general usually has a ton of interesting articles covering a variety of genres and events- as I say, a good source of for music news happening across the country!
