The moon rose high in the sky casting long shadows through the prison bars. A lone figure moved purposely in the halls, their footsteps falling silent as they drew closer to their destination. Kneeling they reached through the bars and placed a package on the ground before getting up and walking away as the prisoner inside stirred.
He caught a glimpse of the stranger who had approached his cell, grey skin and, were those sunglasses or eyes? His gaze traveled down to the box and the slip of paper sticking to the top that he reached over and snatched up.
A malicious smile spread across his face and he placed the box down in the far corner of his cell crushing it underfoot. Counting down the seconds he moved as far away as he could, protecting his head when the explosion went off. There was dust everywhere and all he could hear was ringing but he moved quickly towards the hole in the wall. He was on the second floor of the prison and it was a bit of a drop, but he jumped, cursing as he landed, as his hearing had returned, and he could hear the guards confused shouting.
He made it to the woods that surrounded the prison, he could keep going to the next town, but he knew he would be caught if he did, so he made his way to the front of the prison and just his luck there was a guard standing by a ship, keys in hand. Creeping up behind him, he took the guards blaster and shot him in the back, taking the keys and the ship, he flew it off the planet as fast as he could breathing a sigh of relief when he couldn’t see the tiny green planet anymore.
Finally, he was free from that prison. Free to resume his life. But first he had to make a quick detour to take care of some unfinished business on the skullship.
