Lore time! This time about siblings squabbles
When Jouta's four and Jolyne's six they get into a fight over how babies are made, this is because of a Magic School Bus episode. The argument is simple:
Jouta thinks people lay eggs, like chickens. It makes sense, he knows how chicks are made, why can't people be the same?
Jolyne believes babies grow in tummies (not exactly right, but close enough) and are born like puppies or bunnies.
Jouta brings up the Easter Bunny.
Jolyne counters with the fact that she saw him as a newborn baby, so hah!
Jouta does not think that evidence is decisive.
It devolves into a "yuh huh!" "Nuh uh!" dealio.
Jolyne brings up the point that pregnant people on TV have huge stomachs, therefore, she is right.
Jouta argues back that's because there is a giant egg in their stomach.
Eileen has to settle the argument. It's pretty funny.
She goes "well, yes there is an egg involved, but no laying happens, and well... [goes into kid friendly explanation]."
Jolyne is vindicated, Jouta refuses to budge. Eileen can't really... I mean, what are you supposed to do?
She says, "Honey, you were in my belly, that's how I know."
And he just glares at her and says, "No."
It turns into an embarrassing story, like, 10 or 12 years down the line.
