Hair care’s not really his expertise. Scott’s more of a wires and machines type individual, but ever since becoming a single dad, he’s made an effort to get better at it for Cassie. And while Cassie and Brunn have different types of hair, he assures himself that he can figure it out. Watching a video on his phone Brunn was so kind to hold for him while he worked to help her out. He knew he couldn’t pull perfection just yet, but he’d try for the sake of the king.

“Rewind it a lil’, where she shows the braid again.” Nodding along as the video repeated itself, Scott gifting Brunn a kiss on her shoulder in a silent show of thanks. “Making sure I’m doing this right...”

though he’s changed out of his hospital blues,  there’s a weariness that he can’t rid himself of simply by donning a sweater and jeans. it’s been a long day ---- a long week. this job is brutal when he doesn’t win,  and though the victories are worth every tear he sheds,  he can’t wrap his mind around that right now. 

exhausted & on auto-pilot,  carried only by leftover adrenaline,  he’s hardly surprised that he ends up here.  somehow,  when he gets like this,  she’s become the only person he wants to see. he settles onto a barstool,  propping his elbows on the counter.
