im really sick 😞 can i pls have some meifiz as a treat? freaky or fluffy or both idc whatever floats your boat
aw hun :( hope you're feeling better now <3 sending u love
here's a short fluffy meifiz drabble i've been working on these last couple of days :)
"sophia, please."
sophia moves around the living room without any real direction, like staying in motion might shake the dizziness loose. she adjusts the pillows on the couch, picks up things that don’t need picking up, sets them back down almost immediately. every small task feels deliberate, like she’s trying to prove something through movement alone.
i’m fine. i’m fine. i’m fine.
when she finally says it, her voice carries an edge she doesn’t bother hiding. "i’m really okay, mei. i just need a minute." she keeps her eyes averted, hands still busy, like slowing down would make the feeling catch up to her.
megan doesn’t answer right away. she just watches her for a moment longer, taking in the way sophia’s shoulders are drawn tight, the restless energy in every step, like stillness might make everything spill over. then she moves forward, not cutting her off completely, just easing into her space. her fingers reach out and wrap gently around sophia’s wrist, steady and warm, enough to make her pause without forcing her to.
the touch makes sophia stop.
"hey," megan says quietly but firmly, thumb brushing over sophia’s wrist. "you need rest, soph. please."
"i don’t need-" sophia starts, but the words trip over themselves. her voice wobbles, just a little, and she hates that it does. she swallows, jaw tightening. "i’m okay, megan. it’s just a stupid cold."
then megan steps closer, close enough that sophia can feel her heat, her calm. her hand slides up and rests over sophia’s chest, right above her heart, feeling how fast it’s going.
"i know," she murmurs. "but you take care of everyone. you take care of me." she looks up at her then, eyes soft and steady. "let me take care of you. just this once."
the fight drains out of sophia all at once. her shoulders drop, her breath leaving her in a shaky exhale, like she’s been holding it all day. she nods, small and quiet. "okay," she admits, like it’s something fragile.
megan guides her down the hallway, one hand still warm on her wrist, the other at her back. in the bedroom, she eases sophia down against the pillows, pulls the blankets up around her like it’s the most natural thing in the world. sophia lets it happen, lets herself sink.
a soft kiss is pressed to her temple, fingers brushing her hair back, and sophia closes her eyes for a second, like the world finally remembers how to be quiet. the bed feels warmer, safer somehow, once megan is close to her.
after that, megan moves around the room carefully. she brings water, sets the medicine within reach, tugs the blankets until they sit just right around sophia’s shoulders. she checks her temperature with the back of her fingers, smooths damp hair off her forehead, every touch gentle and unhurried. nothing about it feels forced or dutiful. it’s instinct, the same kind sophia uses on everyone else without thinking.
sophia watches her through heavy-lidded eyes, chest tight with something soft and unfamiliar. she isn’t used to being on this side of care, to being the one tucked in instead of pacing nearby, making sure everyone else is okay. it feels vulnerable, almost embarrassing. but megan never makes it feel that way. she never rushes, never sighs, never treats it like a burden, and that makes it easier for sophia to stay still and let herself be taken care of.
eventually, megan slips back onto the bed, settling carefully beside her. sophia shifts without thinking, rolling closer, her head finding megan’s shoulder like it’s been looking for it all along. megan’s arm comes around her immediately, pulling her in, palm resting flat against her back.
"comfortable?" megan asks quietly.
sophia hums, already half gone, fingers curling into the fabric of megan’s shirt. "yeah."
they stay like that, bodies warm and close, the world reduced to slow breaths and steady heartbeats. sophia lets herself rest there, held together by someone else for once, and megan doesn’t move an inch, like there’s nowhere else she’d rather be.
you being sick made me think of sophia feeling sick and megan taking care of her because sophia also deserves someone to take care of her when she's feeling down <3 hope y'all enjoyed this lil piece, i've been writing a bit more lately hehe :)
