I don't think people are angry that it's fire emblem, I think it's the fact that all of them are just sword users with the exception of Robin. I think fire emblem is fine, but if they would have incorporated some full magic user like Tharja, or if they wanted a Fates rep, they could have added Aqua instead. Aqua uses some kind of spear type weapon and she has water magic. People are upset that corrin is another sword user with slashes, stabs, and counters just like all the other fire emblems.

I dunno what reveal trailer you were watching, but Corrin barely counts as a sword user. Most of his attacks seemed focused around him transforming, not swinging his sword. By that logic, Robin would count as a sword user too because his basic attacks swing it.
