I didn't think this joke would go this far, but here we are.

Initially, I just wanted to adapt this painting for John, Alex, and Elise. But as I drew, I added more details that formed into a whole story. Now, here's what we have: John and Elise are long-lived, and I want them to be childhood friends. Alexander is human, and it brings a lot of tragedy. John is a veteran who lost an arm in the war, and I admit that I gave up trying to draw both of his arms. Also, look, they have matching ribbons (on their necks, hats, and hair). I always love adding this detail.

Due to my work, I can't draw as often as I would like, but here's what I have so far.
