I don't know if these would necessarily all be my "top" 10 games, but my brain that tends to bluescreen the second anyone asks me to retrieve information from it means I'm actually probably missing quite a few that I love but I'm impressed I managed to get the ones I did. Yay me. lol

(I mean even just in the course of making this list I thought of and forgot games multiple times. Mostly while looking for gifs/pics of whichever one I was on at the time. 🙄)

Riven: Sequel to Myst

Still love this game so so so so much. The soundtrack, the environment, the story, the artwork!... hnnnnngggg 😭🥰 I wish I could play it again for the first time it was so amazing!

It only beats out the original because it was *so* rich and built on the previous it spectacularly! And only *juuuust* edges out Myst 3 for nostalgia reasons.

(I'll toss in some honourable mentions in a similar vein in terms off puzzling environments: the rest of the Myst series, The 7th Guest, Chasm, Monument Valley, Monkey Island - look I absolutely have a type.)

39. Are there any NPCs they do not allow to join the camp? Or any they allow to join but can't stand?

LOL I almost feel bad for always having to bully Volo, but... I imagine that at one point while the party was at the goblin camp Astarion turned to Elenion and whispered something in Elvish like "we could just leave him here, you know" and Elenion was like "excuse you, I will not leave someone to get killed just because he's annoying??" only to start lowkey regretting that decision pretty quickly. Elenion is both very familiar with Volo's work and has met him personally pre-tadpole and never liked him, specifically because Volo claims to be an expert in history and culture and folklore, all of which are things Elenion cares a lot about, when what he really is is a braggart and a liar. So while they wouldn't deliberately leave him to die they do wish he'd just disappear or something. He is not invited to the eventual grand opening of Elenion's museum.

Your Wings of Wax by Anoke (no idea if they're on tumblr, does anyone know them?) - Durge learns a very painful lesson. Pre-canon bastard durge, but we love him so much, yes we do.

in the right light by @karlachian gorgeous, gorgeous Wyll/Astarion, hits the highights of the game but keeps the focus very much on the growing relationship between them. Wyll lovers, you will love this!

Blood in the water by @thedorkurge pre-canon. Fantastic Durge-Orin-Sarevok dynamics!

you dream of stray animals by @raayide absolutely brutal mid-canon fic spotlighting Astarion and heavily featuring Wyll. Long but definitely worth it. This one will do some damage. Highly recommend but do please judge for yourself.

Durge, also Durge, did I mention Durge? Duuuuuuuurge. I have been (rather appropriately) utterly consumed by this character. They're just so fascinating in every iteration!

The flesh of a god, the fallen chosen, the lost past, the struggle against or embrace of an unknown compulsion, rebuilding the self from scratch and not knowing where all these trauma responses came from, tantalizing hints like trying to assemble a puzzle that is missing 90% of its pieces and you've no idea what the picture is...

Have I been this way before? You know me? We could be good for each other.

We would be so bad for each other...

My Durge play-through definitely changed my brain chemistry.

I've got a few ideas I'm toying with, though not sure they quite qualify for answers to this. I'd say the only one I've deliberately put off is just being delayed until I finish the current long fic just because having two massive WIPs feels a bit too much for me (and I'm afraid if I start on the second I'll lose motivation for the first).

We'll get there eventually.

1 What is their sleep schedule like?

/laughs in sleep deprivation/ - Actually it's probably not that bad. Wuming is very much a creature of habit - lacking much else in his brain, the habits are so ingrained that he doesn't even recognize most of them - so he broadly sleeps when tired and sleeps until he wakes up.

In the wilderness this quickly aligned with the sun since it's easier to sleep when it's dark (and he's particularly sensitive to the light so he'd struggle to sleep during the day) but now that they've just entered the Shadow-Cursed Lands and it's hard to even tell when night and day actually are, he's probably going to go back to his "whenever I'm tired" schedule.

And no, he doesn't take particular consideration for what sleep schedule his companions might keep 🫢 Though he does at least get some staggered schedules going so they aren't all asleep at the same time - like that's not safe at all! But to him, their sleep is their problem.

6 Do they drink alcohol? Do the others have any funny drunk stories about your OC? If they don't drink, are all companions respectful of that?

He does - not as much as he used to (not that he remembers 'used to'). But he is also finding that it can be problematic to drink too much and he's sort of abstaining for the time being.

He had been regularly enjoying a drink around the fire in the evenings with his companions but he had An Incident (spoilers) which kind of put him off alcohol because he was afraid to lose control of himself. Then later when he's like no fuck it and gets drunk again, that's when another Unfortunate Incident occurs so now he's kind of keeping his distance again.

I'm sure he'll be drinking again before long. Nobody in the party really comments on what anyone else drinks, or how much, but I don't think either of his Incidents rises to "funny story" yet. Give it time, I'm sure in retrospect at least one will get some laughs out of him.

17 How much time do they spend with the other companions vs. alone

Well there's how much time he *does* spend alone vs. how much he'd *prefer* to spend alone and alas, he's done gone and deprived himself of some of the ability to have some real alone-time.

In part, being forcibly in the company of so many people all the time makes him want alone-time even more than usual (especially when he's got Big Emotions to deal with) but he's also doesn't really care that they're always around? He does seek them out and likes their company generally.

Probably more along the lines of he enjoys being in charge of people which necessitates having people around to be in charge of 🤭

36 Which camp location/type is their favorite/least favorite and why?

The first Wilderness camp holds fond memories for a few reasons, mostly just because it was the first place in his head and there is a sense of familiarity and safety there.

The tiefling party was definitely a memorable occurrence there! But then so was Alfira's death. So it's kinda 50/50 on good or bad vibes.

Once he's experienced a few more places he'll likely start feeling a preference for being indoors/underground though won't be able to really understand why he feels that way until Much Later.

But he did really like camping in the mountain pass. The birds, the sunrise, and before the full weight of doom had really settled in.

10 What’s a phrase you catch yourself using in multiple fics, not necessarily on purpose?

Hmmmmmm... I'm not sure there's a phrase but definitely words I use way too much (and tend to then do searches for them to make sure I haven't used 15 in the last 500 words). But also you've asked a specific question that I know I do but because I am not doing it at this exact moment every single example of it has been purged from my memory cache and I have no idea.

However, relatedly, there's the irritating "Oh this would be a good line to put here" only to find almost the exact same thing in the next paragraph 🤦‍♀️ (at least my instinct was right??)

22 Do you have a fixed writing routine, or do you write when you have time? Is there a time of day when you prefer to write?

I write all the time especially when I shouldn't be writing, like at work... 😐🫣 The only time I tend not to write is when I have nothing else to do and lots of time on my hands 😂 (I wish this was more of a joke than it is...)

However now that we're here, I will tell you the almost fool-proof hack I found once to writing when I had time to write but then wasn't writing. Give myself a task I hate instead. I had a few hours where I didn't have to do anything but sit and write and then of course couldn't write so I got up and started sweeping the floor and about half way through the muse came back and we were in business!!

29 Have you ever actually remembered one of those 3am “I’ll remember it in the morning” ideas?

YES ACTUALLY!! Because I ALSO sleep with a notebook in my bed for such emergencies. (it doesn't have to be *in* the bed like it can be on the nightstand or whatever but the point is have something you can jot the idea down in quickly without having to fully wake up and ta-da!) I also have a red-bulb reading light so it doesn't hurt my eyes as I scribble down my ideas in the middle of the night.
