Erika
Re-reading the Terms of Service for Eldarya because the way Erika is written has always bugged me.
Well, now some things make more sense.
Adult my ass. Eighteen maybe? Sure...Why did I think she was more than that though? Idk.
Still, can she be a better written high school student? Yes she can.
Also, how old are the guard leaders then? Don’t tell me they’re teens as well - that makes no damn sense.
What do you think about ashkore?
Seems like a very interesting character. Seems to be on the evil side but with reasons for that. Seems to be manipulative which is interesting as well and can cause some nice drama and conflict.
I like his design a lot.
Can’t say anything else since we have so little information about him.
So far so good , I think. ^-^v
Keroshane
The unicorn.
Not the first character we meet in the game but, he was the first character we could meet by playing the demo which was active before the game got released.
It was the character met with positive responses and , sadly, crushed dreams.
Why ?
Because in the demo we could ask if he was date-able or single ( I don't remember exactly ) and Keroshane told us that he has someone. Now, some took it as ¨ I have a girlfriend¨ while others took the answer as ¨ I have someone I like¨.
Yes, Keroshane is not a date option. T.T
Now, I assume he likes someone rather than has someone ( aka is dating someone ). When we play the game, as of now ( there are only 6 episodes as I write this post ), he seems to have a crush on someone. Coincidentally ( yeah right ) he tells us this in the very same episode we meet Alajea and Ykhar. Then later on, at some point , he wanted to say something about Ykhar to me but did not. He had a red face at that moment so I assume he likes Ykhar.
Because, let's face it, Alajea is not really suitable for him. Their personalities are so different. But I have to be honest here. I assumed he liked Miiko. For some reason I just switched to Ykhar.
Keroshane is called Kero quite often. I use his nickname in my episode reactions as well. It's short. My fingers are thankful.
He seems to be fond of books and information. He is the character which talks to us, complete human strangers, and tries to reason with Miiko to not let us go back to the cell. He explains the Guard system to us. He explains the familiar system to us. He is the one reading questions and options to sort us into one of the guards AND he is the one doing the same thing so we can get our first familiar. He is basically very nice to our main character.
Advice: In episode 5 ( I think ) when your guardienne finds him and says ¨ it's terrible!¨, choose the option where it is clear she is joking. Don't say ¨ I am serious ¨. You will lose 5 points with Kero. Been there, done that. >.<
If you are not sure where to find Kero in the game, go for the library first. I mostly find him there.
Kero is a unicorn. Not quite sure if he is half-unicorn or if he can actually turn into a unicorn on some occasions ( please let it happen ! >.< ) . In no games before have I seen a unicorn character. I have to admit, it is very interesting. Am quite curious about his past / history.
Interesting things for me: -> his design colors suit him -> he has painted nails -> he has long arms – I don't know, it's just amusing from that picture -> he wears glasses – so far the only character with glasses -> he always holds a book – I do wonder what it is about -> he has vast knowledge about the main characters worlds history and legends -> he has vast knowledge about Eldarya -> he acts like a mentor at first -> his horn and his tail – I just like the idea of a Unicorn character -> his hair style - kind of messy -> he is on the slim side – not everyone has to have muscles ; Kero has brains -> that little thing sticking out of his boot – I have no idea what that is o.o A knife?
The Oracle
The spirit of the great crystal.
I don’t have much to say about it.
We meet it in episode 4 and everyone will get that illustration since it is automatic. She appears before guardienne , pointing at her for some reason and moving her lips. Conveniently, we do not hear a thing nor is there any text from it.
Supposedly she appears whenever there is something big ( a natural disaster, a birth of a royal child, etc. ). I guess half human is big enough of an event for her to appear.
Yes, thank you Nevra. As small as guardienne is, there was a reason behind that. And no,I do not think she is a royal child. I do hope we meet one in the game though.
So many little hints.
The design:
Hooo boy ~
I have no idea what to think of the design. There is so much going on there.
I like wings on a character. One pair. She has too many wings going on . How many are there to begin with? 12? I assume there are only 4 on her head. And then a pair of horns on top of that number. Her head must feel crowded. Her big tail kind of ruins the whole wing and feather thing going on in the overall design. But the numbers aside, let me sink with yet another theory.
I think she represents both good and evil. She is the spirit of the crystal and the crystal can have good and negative effects on people. Hence the wings with horns and tail. That is the only way, really. Or she just couldn’t decide what she liked more so she went with having all of them.
Moving on. Her eyes. Now, they remind me of guardienne’s eyes. The color is what I mean. I want to think they are similar. Even Miiko and Ykhar mention the strange color of guardienne’s eyes.
Lastly, about this design: I know that silk piece is there to cover up the certain parts of her body but, couldn’t it have been something else? She is filled with feathers so why not more feathers? Or scales since they are too little of them?
Interesting things for me: -> her eyes - the color -> angelic and demonic parts - though too many feathers and wings -> her hair - is not hair but a bunch of feathers and it looks cool -> her muted appearance - how convenient -> her role - we have no clear idea about it -> her connection to guardienne - there has to be one otherwise why waste time to show yourself before a half human female? Thank you for bringing me a piece of my crystal which you did not even find in the first place? Yeah - no.
Alajea
The siren.
First time I saw Alajea was in episode 4. We meet her with Ykhar and they start the useless trip all the way back to the Crystal room where Miiko is.
Of course , they react to a human in Eldarya and want to bring her to Miiko. Guess that is how it's done there. When I played it, the game made me go back though. That meant losing maana until I met Miiko again.
A little tip : When she starts a pointless argument with Ykhar, let them argue it out. No point in involvement. And you will gain points with , I think, one of them.
Moving on.
Alajea seems to be a rather talkative character. She seems to be the happy-go-lucky type of character and even mentions she tends to be a clutz. All positive.
She is part of Absynthe so she is under Ezarel. Considers everyone to be like a big family. If you are part of the same guard, she is happy you are in Absynthe.
Alajea is a siren. It was stated and it is even obvious. She uses a potion to keep her legs. We can see it on her design as well.
In episode 6 , she speaks a bit more about sirens ( even if it is about our stories when it comes to them – you will see ). She seems to have some secret which she doesn't tell us.
Also, in the same episode, we see her speak with Miiko where she agrees with Miiko about how our characters complaining about the mattress was too much or too annoying. Yeah well , I thought that was annoying as well. The point there was that Alajea agreed with our character and was with everyone when guardienne confronted Miiko about it. Miiko even told her that. So she was contradicting her previous statement she made to guardienne. I am not sure why that was shown. Did she want to gain points or favors from Miiko? Does she try to please and be on positive terms with everyone? Is she not as nice as we thought?
Any of those are fine with me. The ¨not as nice as we thought¨ part does seem more interesting than others though. We need nice characters but if everyone is nice and / or neutral then where is the plot? The character development? You get my point.
I have to say I talked quite a bit with Alajea durring episodes 4 , 5 and 6. The answers with her were mostly neutral so her points are on the lower side. But after the Miiko talk, maybe they will stay that way.
Interesting things for me: -> Alajea is a siren - yes! -> she uses a potion to keep her legs -> she has a secret and doesn't seem to like the water much ( if I understood her correctly ) -> she has funny moments - she herself says she is a clutz -> she has scales as human -> her ears are not human ears -> she helps guardienne with the Kappa in episode 6 -> those two balls on her design which are the same color as the liquid of her potion -> her hair color -> her skin color – at least she isn't white -> those little things on the ropes - are those shards or something?
What we know about her: As of episode 7: She likes to gossip. Likes to twist things others said to create drama and isn't shy of speaking ¨ill¨ of MC – if you pick the Nevra route. In this episode she also stole something and lied about it but, Karma came back to bite her.
Valkyon
The berserker . The boy whose race we do not know.
Valkyon is one of the three main boys. I usually think of him as the third one since Ezarel and Nevra are shown at the log in page when you visit Eldarya.
He is the tallest of the three and clearly seems to be the strongest. The leader of the Obisidian guard.
His first impression is serious and he doesn't talk much. Clearly , if you think he is one of those ¨ strong and serious but a good heart¨ characters, you are not wrong. That's what it even says when you go to the library section where each character you've met has a little information box next to their picture.
I assume Valkyon is something like a berserker. And, since I failed with Nevra's race, I don't care if I sink with this idea as well. At least I can swim.
Anyways, the more you go up with the episodes, the more Valkyon will talk when you meet him. He doesn't fool around like Ezarel nor does he talk and flirt like Nevra. Still, he does speak to you when you speak to him. If, in episode 5, you pick him as a mission partner ( and not as the room decorator! ) he might show you his cute familiar. In episode 5 we learn he prefers rodents as animals. Maybe because they are little?
He shows skin as well. Not that my character minds. From the little skin we can see, it is clear he has scars. But they only add to his nice design.
His clothes are rather unique. On the other hand, they seem to fit him and his Guard well.
Interesting things for me:
-> white hair – and it's not short! I like white hair on characters…No joke. -> golden eyes – reminds me of a cat. Reminds me of Rosalia from My Candy Love too. She also has white hair. Wait a minute... -> his height – in episode 4 we get an illustration and you see the height ratio of certain characters. -> those black glove, arm protection thingies – I want them! -> he has scars – at least it shows he fights. -> his calm personality we mostly see. -> him yelling at my character when she did not listen to him because I wanted his illustration in episode 5. -> him blushing at times – it's amusing. -> his little and cute, mouse familiar which I hope is not an ¨Obisidian only¨ familiar because I want one!
What do we know about him: As of episode 8: Likes MC's cooking. Doesn't talk much to people he recently met. Likes warm and cold weather but not when it is too hot and too cold. Admitting ones weaknesses is a brave thing to do. He thinks one’s body is just a body and doesn't seem to mind seeing either genders nude bodies. He likes it if one wants to try something because he said he likes said thing.
Mery
The cute , little brownie.
The first village character we meet who has nothing to do with the Guards of Eel. He is a little boy with cute horns and little ears.
We first meet Mery in episode 3 where he comes to Kero because he had lost his familiar. It is his example with which we learn how to capture a familiar ( which leads us to use maana for Crylasm food or bait – or both, don't remember ). This example also makes us use exploration for the first time (unless you couldn't wait and already used it ).
Past all his crying, Mery ends up liking us and gives us an important present at the end of the episode.
We meet him again in episode 4 where he clearly shows he likes us. No matter what familiar you have at the time of playing the episode, the name you use for it will be the same name Mery uses for his familiar. And it's really cute how he says it. So, yes, the kid seems to have a crush on our character.
Since he appeared for only two episodes and his appearance was short, I don't have much to say about Mery. We might expect him to lose yet another familiar. Or he might just visit us because he is bored.
This is his design:
Far simple in comparison to other designs.
Interesting things for me:
-> his horns and ears – they are just too cute
-> the fact he is a little child – we need age variation in this game
-> his crush on our character – innocent and cute
-> the tips of his locks are the same color as his eyes
