[ I was talking with @brandedearth and she brought up a good point, about how the Healing Church has no checks and balances in place. Essentially, it is the religion and the government of the land, while simultaneously neither of those things. And both sides of that coin allow the other to go completely unregulated. ]
[ It’s really a research organization-- at the bare minimum-- pretending to be a government, pretending to be a religion. A completely inhuman and very cultish research organization, but that is the primary goal, at the end of the day. ]
[ The Healing Church is the hand by which the Choir can have all its fingers in everybody else’s pies, so to speak. The Executioners practice at their behest, as does the School of Mensis. Possibly even Byrgenwerth, before it was completely disbanded. ]
[ Yharnam isn’t a city, it’s a giant pool of test subjects. ]
