The subtle murmurs start rising up over the crowd but the message is clear.

“Fia Palmgren has been murdered”

Ha-Jeong started weaving through the crowd the moment alarm had even threatened to start being whispered about. But the pace quickens the moment murder is mentioned. If anything the general panic of the crowd allows her to slip through more quickly. Finding the space between people, slipping through the air, comes second nature.

It isn’t long before she catches sight of a familiar red dress. She catches Eleanor by the elbow and pulls her gently around to look at her for inspection.

Once assured there is nothing out of place that Eleanor didn’t cause herself, Ha-Jeong drops the arm. A slight buzz on her hip tells her that Kali is about to call her in for something related to the devolving Conclave, but Ha-Jeong knows that she must secure Eleanor, her original assignment, before slipping away.

“Have you heard about the leader of Wrymwood?” she says, still quietly assessing.

Sulking never did a girl any good. While Thera could haunt the edge of this ballroom all night thinking about Shiv, the damage had already been done. She had left her house, a place that had been warded and rune marked to high heaven. No one would be able to enter the place without Thera knowing. Her hands ached in her gloves, marred and pick raw by the work she had done over the past month.

Necessary work. Work she would do again and again and again if it meant they would just be ok.

Speaking of sulking, a familiar thread had floated into the room, a thread she had run into many a time, just rarely on her own terms. Thera trailed behind the familiar tendril until she caught sight of blonde hair on red tulle.

Eleanor

The corners of Thera’s mouth kicked up as she floated to take a place next to the blonde at the standing bar she had come to occupy. Thera let her elbow graze the vampiress’s “So we meet again, Friend. Have you come prepared with my box?”
