Primus - Electric Uncle Sam

The albums by the cult musicians that were meant as their attempts at being commercial do have a bad reputation thanks to their players' wish to sell more. True, the reality of their reasons remains a collection of complex proposition here with Antipop by Primus being the case, which continues to astound me. Why did they need a platter in this vein? Look, this an LP that could've only been released in 1999, since Primus are being produced by Tom Waits, Tom Morello and, yes, Fred Durst. While this might be the weirdest set of collaborator for the group on one disc, I think we should not see the nefarious motives here – they decided to call them to observe their lines of thinking. Tom Morello, for instance, tackled them well and I wish he would be willing to come back to them.

Let's just all celebrate how absurdly good this guy is.

More than that, how technically proficient he is while still having so much fun slapping his bass. Kudos to you, David. Watching you play is always a treat.
