Stumbling Tours: Epic Megagames Part 6 - The Epic Puzzle Pack

Finally reaching the end of my almost realtime coverage of Epic Megagames' releases in 1993! This video covers three games from a group of developers in Poland that were later packaged together as the Epic Puzzle Pack. These are Robbo and Heartlight, which are puzzle games, and Electro Man, which isn't. During the video, I release the first game-related thing I've done in a very long time - a rudimentary editor for Heartlight, which is downloadable here.

Now this was a find and a half!

When we first got our computer in 1994, we all were fairly vague on how to use it. We knew there were games on it but we had no idea how to start them running. One afternoon, Mum pressed something and this nightmare fuel game opened.

The music. The weird European jibberish. The nonsense title.

The game itself wasn't near as creepy (terrible RoboCop bootleg platformer), but this opening sequence stayed with me for a long damn time. Almost twenty years. I have been trying to remember it since that very afternoon. Because we had no clue how the shit we opened it in the first place we didn't remember what it was called. Or how to ever open it again.

I have over time remembered the "horns" though, and the word Electro came to mind. Somehow last year through many years of Google-fu, I found it.

It still sort of creeps me out.
