ElectroJam With A Diana F+ & FujiColor Pro 400
As ever, I was invited down to Zoso in a Tuesday night to take photograph's. I do not get paid for this so this week I kicked loose and took my Diana F+ (please see to the left).
The film I was shooting was FUJIFILM FUJICOLOR PROFESSIONAL 400 - quite a pro film. Now then, I am unused to shooting with film - my weapon of choice on a Tuesday is a Leica D-LUX 6 and quite a bit of in-club editing goes on. I was shooting away on one film (limited to 36 exposures) and I still have not got the hang of it ....
However, these images have a dream like quality to them that I am quite proud of. I have the official flash for a Diana F+ and set the conditions slider to cloudy throughout. My downfall was Jaegermeister and forgetting to manually calibrate the focus.

ElectroJam @ Zoso 11th June 2013 [a tale of an Olympus PEN E-PL2 in a nightclub]
ElectroJam is held every Tuesday - Monday night saw me fully rested and refreshed the following morning so I decided to bob down and see what the crack was. I got there extra early to help set up - we needed to sort out the P.A. and it was a pleasure to help Jason Mawer with it (Jason is the other half of WhatStep Records). Having recently swapped my old cameras for a Olympus E-PL2 I was excited to get it into action. I was unsure of the settings and was flying by the seat of my pants. I am not happy with the photos that came out of the night, but I have now learnt how to control the camera with the MANUAL setting (but only on the way home from the Club, Zoso). I think Zoso is swiftly becoming the alternative venue in town. It is owned by the same people that own REHAB, yet it has a completely, almost underground, feel to it. Last Tuesday (the 11th) saw a new Techno DJ playing, called Greg. I really rated his set and he seemed a sound guy. The other music being played was House, Trap, Dubstep & the inevitable Hardcore. I left at that point.

Had to use my iPhone for that night - my DSLR was on its arse (technical photography term). It was a lot of fun trying to play the pro with just a crappy iPhone lens. Well, town was the quietest that I have seen for ages - probably because it was the first Tuesday after the Bank Holiday. However, every late-night-reveller was at Zoso, Harrogate, partying until the wee hours. I was thankfully asked to return to take some photos - I really do not mind helping my mates, Jason & Jake, the event organisers out like this. You never know, it may lead to employment?!
