Said Fire to Ice It must be nice To be the Earth or Sea. The creatures that live All over them Cannot exist in me.
Said Ice to Fire Why do you desire Something so inane? If I had those creatures To scar up my features I think it would drive me insane.
Said Fire to Water Oh Ice’s daughter How do they ever survive? The one’s I touch Turn to ash and dust. Yet the ones inside you thrive.
Said Water to Fire Though you have my ire I will tell you that which I do. I save from the Air Those who perish there, But that is no path for you.
Said Fire to Earth How can you give birth To creatures so filled with joy? It’s such a cruel fate For I’ve tried to create, But all I can do is destroy.
Said Earth to Fire I am the sire Of every conceivable race. I feed and care For the ones that I bear, And you shall not take my place.
Then Fire despaired Till he spoke to the Air And told him of his plight. And Air did listen to Fire’s admission Then thought on it all through the night.
Said Air to Fire Those others are liars, Though you can bring down a nation. For each city that passes Two shall rise from the ashes, Flames are harbingers of creation.
