I Don't Think Vanity Bolt Is An Unpopular Hero

I know one now defunct Villainous blog said he might not be popular but looking he it's said Heed saw him as a friend (publicly). So it makes me think he's one of the popular heroes despite being a butt monkey. He does seem like he's a social clout type of guy though.

Emilia: it's not that bad really, we get three square meals a day, asides from snacks and stuff, we live in a big haunted house and mother poltergeist takes care of us, and uh. . . black hat just tells us to do something and we do it and basically that's it. . . pretty much.

Los Tornados: it's getting quite annoying to hear how much my colleagues talk about those infernal heroes. oh they've ruined my plans again this and he's destroyed this and he's just foiling my plans that and she won't return my calls this, *SIGH* it's getting quite frustrating with me really.

Flamme: oh. . . i remember this one time when i was suppose to go over to Elflora's forest and like lure her into a trap, so i went over and i was like "ah! ha ha! i'm flamme! i'm gonna destroy you and your forest!" ha ha yeah it was really fun and cool but uhh. . . yeah she kicked my butt and i had to go back and uh black hat was pretty ticked but you know i thought it was pretty funny but he didn't so. . . yeah kinda. . . that's it.

Metauro: huh? black who?

interviewer: uh black hat, he's the one who you work for to help sell things to villains after he blackmailed you by taking your wife and kids hos- Metauro: (thinking as interviewer talks then his eyes bulge and interrupts) OH YEAH YEAH YEAH right right right. . . uh. . . i don't know him that much.

valdoomite: um she hits me. . . a lot.

jamo (a little dejected): well he hates me, i don't know why but whenever i try to talk to him, he keeps throwing things at me and slapping me and. . . *sniffles* (puts hand on his head) i just want to be loved *crys a little*. (valdoomite awkwardly sidesteps and then awkwardly pats jamo's side).

chimera: . . . (in deep voice) i want to kill him (she narrows her eyes). . . (then switches to normal voice) but then i kinda wanna kill everyone i know or meet since i got all these killer animal instincts in me, so yeah.

interviewer: what do you do in your free time when you're not being a villain?

(epsilon is leaning back in a chair with his arms crossed trying to be serious while colonel steele jr. is causally sitting in chair)

colonel steele jr: well sometimes when i get bored i just uh open up my figures and models and i like to play war games or conquest or pretend to destroy armies and nations, sometimes i like painting my figures of military vehicles or army guys or warhammer stuff or something like that. and there's something that epsilon (epsilon eyes kinda widen at the mention of him) does that i'm trying to get into, it's called origami and what you do is take these papers and you make animals or-

epsilon: (interrupts and is behaving dismissive) what- what, um i don't know what colonel steele is talking about, i-i did no such thing.

epsilon and steele jr (talking over each other): but epsilon what are talking about, you did. "no i didn't", you showed me, you took the paper "NO", you even gave me some. "shut up steele", you got it from san rio i think *SIGH* or something, "i'm gonna hurt you." (colonel steele jr slumps in chair and stops talking after that threat, looking down.)

black hat bot (a little scared): well on my free time sometimes i just like to hide, and you know. . . i like to stay away from black hat as much as possible because he really scares me a lot and he, you know when he gets angry he throws up his fists and he just makes me, very nervous and you know i-i just don't like the look of his hat, it's all black and sharp and it's. . . wait a minute, ARE YOU ROLLING?!, oh no! oh no! is this gonna be on tv? oh my god. . . uh lord black hat if you're listening i'm sorry, i don't think your hat is sharp at all, i think it's very nice yes um, oh man, i could be in big trouble can i please have the camera please, oh god, um i gotta get out of here.

Incinerator (in deep bellowing voice): I LIKE. . . TO PLAY. . . CHECKERS.

interviewer and witch: have uh (looks at interviewer then looks away) you ever considered doing anything else besides being a villain (looks at interviewer again to look away in another direction) to uh. . . uh excuse me. . . um excuse me, what are you doing?

Unpopular Opinion: Any Relationship With Heed Will Automatically Be Toxic

Let's be honest with ourselves as much as Paperheart is cute in concept it also is toxic in canon. Seriously, whether it's platonic or romantic Miss Heed just is too much of a toxic person for a relationship. Seriously, despite happily kissing Flug while under the influence she feels entitled to his love and devotion in order to validate herself. And used their friendship as teens to get his thesis then ditch him to become a hero. Girl did him dirty it's no wonder he's cynical about love. He's not the only one who she used to advance herself. It's a common pattern of hers.

Seriously, Omega was supposed to be her BFF and here we saw her brainwash him to test her perfume and also prop herself up so she could make it appear he patched things up with his archenemy.

Doesn't stop there because Eflora, Konan, and Incinemiau were all also considered to be her dear friends until she drugged and brainwashed them so that she could win the "New Dawn" contest. Seriously, that I will say it once and I will say it again that is so many levels of shittiness. Imagine someone who you considered a friend brainwashed you to win a competition and become another mindless follower of hers.

It's no wonder her now former friends are glaring daggers at her when the are unbrainwashed and don't think for a minute teaming up with villains to get back at her. And gosh seeing Omega cry after seeing her try to brainwash him again becomes less funny and more heartwenching after what he put him through to get popular and validate herself. Again any sane person who was her friend and was brainwashed would want to stay away the heck from her even with the over up.

I would say an underrated toxic relationship overlooked is practically her non-relationship with Goldheart which is implied to be futile because of her obsessive nature with him. We don't know how he feels about her but given his reactions to the news of her kissing Flug he really only cared that the doctor was meddling in his plans. Despite doing everything to get his attention and being a teammate with him for years he still doesn't really care for her. Heck, they aren't even friends on social media which implies he tries to keep a distance from her. And again this shows she loves the idea of Goldheart but not actually be interested in him as a person but a trophy to have. Again being with the most popular hero will probably in her mind get her the most attention and praise. She also probably thinks she also will get it personally from him with no evidence he's even interested. And again I can't imagine Goldheart would be interested because again she comes off as too much much of a tryhard to get his love and lets be frank in private she can be very bratty and entitled to work with. So, yeah, I can't imagine even the possibility of even a friendship working with them.

It's no wonder that Flug did himself and her a favor. He didn't give into her need to seek validation and trap himself into another toxic relationship with her. I say good for him. However, for Miss Heed she still needs to eventually to take Flug's words to heart so she can maintain any type of relationship without trashing it in favor of seeking shallow validation for herself. She just really needs to learn to love herself before she can learn to love others.

Pretty Telling How Heed Lumps Her So-Called Friends Collectively In With The Rest Of Her Followers

I can understand to heroes, villains, and civilians who she's not super close to but she's stated before she was friends with at least Elflora, Konan, and Incinemaiu. I bet that really made them turn even more against her not only with the fact that she brainwashed them but she really just saw them as just collective potential accessories to use to benefit herself.

Seriously, she made a big show on her instagram how all four were friends of hers, but in the end they were just potential victims that would flow into her collective followers. They don't have their own identity except worshipping her.

And this scene with Omega Nuclear she's treating her so-called BFF as if he was just a minion of hers rather than a long time comrade. She doesn't even address him by name because that's not important to her at all because all he is to her is a follower of her made to do what she commands regardless of each other's history with one another.
