“Do you think I’m nuts?” I ask, and Avner takes another spoonful of mint ice cream. The boy has bad taste, but God, he’s cute.

“I think you need another kiss,” he says, and looks up at me with the spoon touching the tip of his tongue.

“Yes, please,” I say, and lean in.

He tastes like mint, which is awful, but everything else is so nice and soft. I touch my hand to his neck; with my other hand, I can feel his face warm.

I picked Eliza and Avner as a romantic couple for this (as opposed to Red/Eliza or Red/Avner) for a couple reasons-- Red/Eliza is the first and most obvious pairing, Red/Avner is the one my boyfriend is interested in, and Red just got to have his back in an edit so it’s time to switch things up. I really feel for the Avner/Eliza dynamic, and it was probably the one that was the most fun to write, but I never put it out there! So here it is.
