Ever since Lys had confessed their feelings things had been different between them and Eliot. Not bad necessarily, just... different. Almost like they were holding their breath around each other. Everything had just become more strained and Lys needed to know why. At the time he’d said it just to get it out, because it had been a truth held in so long it was at the point of bursting. They thought they didn’t need to know if Eliot felt the same way, but now they weren’t the same as they used to be. Maybe if he knew the answer he could stop holding his breath. The two of them walked by the Honesty Room and Lys stopped in front of it, eyes downcast, unable to make eye contact, they called after Eliot, “Hey El...” Brown eyes, full of fear stricken hope, peered up at Eliot, “Can we go in here? Please? I think... I need to go in here.”
