What I’ve Learned from Trying Tinder for a Weekend
1. Only a few will read your profile.
2. Only a few will understand your profile, and most won’t understand if you are anything other than the norm.
Example: I’m a pansexual demisexual in a poly relationship. The key here is I like people of any gender label, I DO NOT have any sexual attraction (nor do I actually want to discuss sex) until I’ve had a deep meaningful emotional connection, and I’m also in a relationship or I’m okay to have multiple relationships.
3. If you’re a woman, you’re going to get treated like a piece of meat for casual booty hook ups.
4. If you deflect or say you’re not interested in the previous statement (sex), you will be dropped from them, which honestly is a good thing because why waste time on fuck bois when you could be treated like an awesome human being that you are. Also you get to drop them instantly when they stop treating you like a person.
5. Tinder is a zoo where you’re only seeing what people think you want to see, including yourself.
6. If you do talk about protected sex, some men really shy away. Steer clear of those assholes. They only have their best interests at heart.
7. And lastly, if none of these things sounds good to you, then Tinder is not for you.
This is my TEDtalk, thanks for joining me on this hilarious journey that was my weekend. I very much didn’t enjoy Tinder or Feeld for that matter. If y’all have horror stories of any dating apps or want to add to this list, reblog or let me know via message.
Side note: I live in Alabama (unfortunately) so my options of liberals or woke people is few and far between. I’m going to try BumbleBFF next weekend.
