Day 3: The Paper World Society

Genre: fantasy

What first piqued my interest: Reincarnation storylines are my jam, and this one includes a pleasant amount of secret societies, past life emo, and questions about whether the world deserves to be saved--and how. Also, that excerpt is gold.

What I want to learn more about: How does Hayori’s reincarnation process work? Does she always know who she is and what she has to do? How will she interact with the Paper World Society, and how does she feel about their plans for her? Is it possible for Hayori and Oshan to have any sort of positive relationship based on their many lifetimes of knowing each other, or is that pesky Hayori-will-end-the-world thing going to get in the way?

What I’m excited about: The premise is fascinating, with lots of cool opportunities for character development and Serious Thematic Stuff about curses, friendship, and the end of the world.

1) What’s the title of your novel? Earhart & Noonan’s Last Grand Adventure.

2) Is this a new project or an old project? This is an older project.

3) What genres does your story fall under? Historical fiction! Also maybe alternate history? Is Robinsonade a genre???

4) Describe your plot in one sentence. Amelia Earhart and her navigator struggle to survive on a deserted island.

5) What’s the protagonist’s name? I just told ya, silly!

6) Describe them in three words: adventurous, bookish, impulsive

7) What book is your story similar to? I am The Worst with remembering books, so no comment.

8) Which one of the story’s characters do you want to meet most in real life? Fred Noonan. Maybe if I met him, he’d be easier to write.

9) What are your plans for this novel? I want to query agents and publishers because most people I’ve talked to have shown interest in the story. If that fails, I’ll self-publish.

10) On a scale of 1-10, how excited are you for your book? Solid 10.

All right. The first detail that is apparent in your cards is patience: an improvement is not quick; more like, you shall develop a certain routine that will step by step and day by day fix the situation. The feeling seems to be caused by an imbalance, too much thought and too little satisfactory action. Options are there, but which to pick is the question- and, without a ready answer, none is picked. 

As for what to do, your aim for now is not to step on a path, but rather to pay attention to the smaller-scale things. Writing to a friend, going somewhere, choosing the thing which does not necesserily benefit the whole picture, as said picture is undefined, but you at that very moment. Slowly, the internat to external ratio will even out.
