IT GOT SUSPENDED !!!! for literally no reason. tl;dr: my new account on twitter for the time being is: gothamcityelle, gimme a follow on there if you wanna stay connected on there, lovelies !!
basically, i tweeted about OCD and intrusive thoughts yesterday. i talked about how sometimes they can be really disturbing, like worrying if you’re a pdf file etc. (censoring it in case trolls follow me here), and it went MEGA viral, like 220k likes and 11 million views. it got thousands of comments and quotes that are so sweet and found it so validating that i talked about the reality of OCD for so many people, that they feel so seen and they don’t feel alone in it anymore :’) tons of people even being able to put a label on their intrusive thoughts now and saying because of my tweet they’re reaching out for therapy and they don’t hate themselves as much 😭 i felt so so happy to provide visibility and resources !!
but it also reached some right-wing trolls who wanted to say everyone was disgusting for having OCD and that it’s not ‘real’ OCD and that everyone needs to be reported in the comments and quotes for experiencing intrusive thoughts. and thusly, early this morning, my account got permanently suspended. i can’t access or see any of my messages or following, like it’s just Gone™️.
i have submitted an appeal to reverse the suspension if that is possible, but I have yet to hear back. it’s so frustrating because white supremacists can post whatever the hell they want on that hellsite, but god forbid someone actually create community and help people feel seen 💀
it’s just deeply upsetting because what message does this send to people with OCD and intrusive thoughts? that if we talk about them, even just in generalities, that our account will get permanently suspended for breaking some rule? it’s heartbreaking to me on that level alone, not even including the devastation of losing all my mutuals and all my messages, tweets, photos (the damn archive that was there !!!) and the times that The Batman official account quoted me !!!! lmao. that one is by far the least important, but still. hopefully i can get it back, but who knows.
