My roommate, who has a parent similar to Elora and helps me write her: I don't like when my mom uses my full first name
Me, buzzing with excitement because Elora uses everyone's first full name regardless of their preference: I'M SO GLAD YOU SAID THAT
Hello, dear! You've been visited by the random character question fairy! :D ~☆
Does your character find it easy to make friends? What do they value in a friend? What immediate trait about a person makes your character want to befriend a person?
HELLO FAIRY <3 sorry for the late reply it just kept my askbox so nice and toasty <33
Dedrick does not find it easy to make friends, most of the time. There's a variety of reasons: he was an outcast as an elementary schooler, and then he was a mean (and demon possessed) spoiled kid, and then he didn't feel like he could trust anyone/was afraid he'd hurt them. However, if people have good instincts about others, he tends to trust them more. If he's doing a bad thing and the person picks up on that, there's a bit of respect that goes there where he thinks, "Yeah, I want you on my side" so he tries a bit harder so they aren't his enemy.
Rose also doesn't find it easy to make friends, but that's because she has low self-esteem (hi, Elora). At the beginning, her only friend that isn't related to her is Guin, but they met in Kindergarten and they only became friends because Rose accidentally made Guin feel sad and she wanted to apologize. And Guin was so lonely but also really intrigued by this weird kid and her twin brother that they were like "hey. we're platonic soulmates now. im gonna teach you how to read." Later on, Rose finds that she values the sweetness in people. But if they mess with her siblings they are banished no questions asked. don't touch her babies.
"there could have been worse times to be poisoned by your mother" just kinda encapsulates rose's life huh
