TALES OF ZALE: ELVA'S SONG, CHAPTER 5
----------------
Sesam clung onto Elva's back as she flew just above Zale, "Are we there yet Sis, it feels like you've be flying for hourss!" Sesam groaned, his downy grey feathers flowing in the wind.
"We'll be there when we get there Ses, just wait" Elva responded in a irritated tone, slightly annoyed by her little brother's nagging. "You said that a while agooo" Sesam sighed in boredom. Zale turned his ears up and chuckled, "You know, it's fun to have Sesam tag along with us every now and then" responded Zale to the two Owls' bickering. Elva turned her head down before glancing at her little brother "to be honest, yeah… but I just hope he doesn't get hurt" Elva responded to Zale with an soft smile as she looked at Sesam happily.
Elva landed on the ground and let Sesam hop off, the watching as the grey Owlet landed onto the ground as light as a single feather before she glanced back at Zale. "So, are you sure you'll be fine here by yourself Zale?" Elva asked caringly, willing to stay by him at the hot springs if need be. "Pretty sure, besides, you're a Barn Owl Elva, and I remember how… 'funny' you looked last time you got drenched.." Zale answered as his ears perked down in apologetic expression, as Elva decided to respond "Oh, why did you have to remember that…" sighed the Barn Owl as she put a wing on her forehead.
"Well, I think you should take this as time to bond with Sesam then Elva. Maybe he'd like some of your company for now!" Zale suggested as Elva took a glance towards her brother getting ready to scamper off as she decided to reply, "You seem right" Elva said as she turned away, but decided to give Zale a short glance. "Well, take care Zale!" Elva replied as she took off after her little Brother, "You too Elva!" yelled Zale cheerfully.
Sesam hopped through the bush "Well, now where do I go…" mumbled the Owlet as he then heard someone swoop down nearby him, "Hey Ses!" Elva happily chirped as she landed beside him. "Huh? What are you doing here Sis?" Sesam confusedly asked, "Well, since Zale is going into the hot springs, we decided that I should spend some time with you for a bit" Elva informed as Sesam looked up at her "Hmmm I guess you can come follow me then" Sesam bashfully replied as he and his older sister Walked off.
Elva looked up through the canopy seeing various other Birds swoop past, their chirps and whistles blending into a bustling song, but she still kept focus on her little brother. "So… Sesam… where do you want to go?" Elva asked as Sesam throught to himself, "uhhhhmm…… we could go to the uhh…. buildings?" Sesam awkwardly replied, which caused Elva to suddenly remember the incident at the ruins "NO!" Elva blurted fearfully before covering her beak with her wings as Sesam suddenly perked up at her with confused eyes.
"Sorry Ses… it's just… well…", Elva exhaled before continuing her speech and regained her composure "I don't want to go near the Ruins if you're wanting to go after what happened" Elva sighed as she tried to avoid eye contact with Sesam out of both embarassment and fear of looking 'weak' to her little brother.
Sesam turned his head up "I- do you think I want to go to the ruins?!" Sesam confusedly spoke up until her saw Elva start to whimper, her cheek fluff uncharistically trembling as she winced away from Sesam, the recoil of her movement suddenly making clear her feelings to Sesam. "Oh… sorry Sis.." Sesam said apologetically as he stared at the ground, noticing Elva decide to open her eyes for a short bit and look down at Sesam. "I-It's fine Ses… I shouldn't have done w-what I did.." Elva shakily exhaled before she felt someone wrap his wings around her, "Let's just… go, Elva" Sesam replied.
Though as the two birds were walking off, they didn't notice an Blue crested Bird also looking at them in turn, his wings fluttering just as quickly as he came to avoid being spotted.
---------
Sesam and Elva continued their walk through the Forest as Elva looked around, "I don't think we've been here before Ses, are you sure this is a good idea?" Elva questioned Sesam as she turned to him, "Well, I think would be a nice place to… go…" Sesam suddenly stopped speaking as he peaked through the shrubbery, gazing in awe at what he saw.
"Sesam… what is that…" gasped Elva as she stared upon the crashed Machine alongside her little brother, "I d-don't know" responded Sesam. "I-I'm going in…" Sesam nervously said until Elva suddenly put a Talon on his Shoulder, "Sesam no!" Elva worriedly snapped out of fear for her little brother's safety "I'll be fine Sis…" Sesam said as he shrugged off Elva's Talon, "Why can't you let me explore that thing!? You and Zale go exploring the ruins a lot and you don't seem to care as much!" Sesam whined in annoyance. "Yeah, but still I know Zale can keep himself safe! I don't think you're… you're…" Elva turned, only to notice Sesam had ran away "Catch me if you can Sis! Hahaha!" Sesam laughed as he rushed towards the winged machine joyfully. "ugh… wait for me Sesam!" Elva groaned in annoyance as she took off after her little her little brother.
Eventually after a few minutes of running, Sesam had made it to the wreck. "Heh… I think I beat Elva…" Sesam wheezed as he tried to catch his breath. "Nice job Ses!" Elva sassily said towards her little brother as he finally got to "AGH!" Sesam yelped as he Elva "HOW DID- I- ugh…". Sesam groaned as he looked towards the ground, "I didn't even hear you fly overhead…".
"Well, I suppose that's something you should take note of for your flight practices." Elva playfully replied, "Now… since we're already here, I might as well follow your plan and follow you inside this… thing" Elva followed up snarkily whilst Sesam looked towards what seemed to be an large and fragmented opening that seemingly lead to the inside of machine, "Uhm… alright Sis…" Sesam uneasily said as he stared at the darkened interior, Elva's expression behind him slowly softening up as she took note of the concern in his voice.
It was time for Elva and Sesam to enter the plane.
---------
Sesam nervously hopped inside the plane's cargo hold, Elva following close behind. "Sis… can you please stay close to me… I'm scared" Sesam whispered, a small tinge of fear creeping into his voice. Elva turned towards him as she got ready to reply, "Hey, don't worry about me running off Ses. I promise I'll keep you safe…" Elva said caringly as she looked down towards him, Sesam letting out a small smile as he and Elva walked into the depths of the Plane.
Sesam and Elva took careful and quiet steps within the Cargo bay, the metal of the machine was overgrown with plants hanging down like stalactites, and it creaked and groaned at random intervals as the two Owls cautiously navigated its interior.
An sudden loud groan of the Metal Supports caused Sesam to jump and suddenly suddenly rush to Elva, clinging to her leg as his wings wrapped around his torso as he whimpered in fear. "Hey… remember what I said. You'll be okay Ses.." Elva caringly said trying to remain calm as she looked around, assessing the safeness of the area she and her little brother were in as they made their way to what seemed to be a busted open hatch in the center of the vessel.
Elva swiftly made her way up with Sesam clinging to her back before hopping off, the two Owls landing on the floor of the cabin softly. "This seems… odd…" Elva mused towards herself cautiously as she and Sesam looked at the broken Windows, the chamber of the plane itself had multiple rows of weird platforms with a slanting back in pairs of 3.
Sesam looked up at what appeared to be some kind of compartment and opened it up, "Huh? What's this.." Sesam curiously said as he looked at what appeared to be a chip with an red button on it.
Meanwhile just outside the plane, an familiar pack of Corvids stumbled upon the fallen wreckage of the Plane as they watched from the bushes, "Well that's an odd… thing" Stellan muttered to himself as he looked upon the pieces of twisted Metal. The Blue Jay staying perched on a branch whilst his Raven And Magpie friends gazed at the wreck behind him.
Back inside, Sesam stared at the red Button intently, and almost without thinking.. he pressed the Button with a small, almost silent click sounding from it. Only for the sleeping Giant to suddenly awaken.
"INTRUDER DETECTED! INTRUDER DETECTED!" blared a deep mechanical voice as the lights of the wreck blazed a bright red, loud sirens blaring through the hull of the Fallen Plane. The feathers of both Owls standing on end as parts of the Plane started trying to flicker back to life. The Sound echoing so far it even caught the Magpies off guard "WAGH-" Stellan suddenly exclaimed before he accidentally stumbled back into Galvyn and Bryce, the three Corvids falling to the forest floor and crashing on the ground shortly after, though unharmed.
Elva turned quickly towards Sesam "SES! What did you do!?" Elva frantically said, "UH- UHM- I DON'T KNOW?!" Sesam yelped in turn as they seemingly heard doors closing behind them. Without thinking, Elva quickly took off and snatched Sesam in her Talons hastily, but carefully enough as to not hurt him. She dashed through the wreckage as the engines tried to roar to life once more, a billowing scream rushing through the Turbines whilst the Barn Owl gracefully dodged her way through the chambers her swift brown form contrasting against the blaring scarlet lights, she almost made it out until Sesam saw something, "ELVA LOOK OUT!" yelled the Owlet.
Elva turned quickly, narrowly avoiding a beam that would've hit her, but loosing grip of Sesam in the process, which caused the grey Owlet to fall to the floor of the plane with an quick thump, but quickly being able to get on his feet. The Two birds did not have enough time to get out, Elva turned towards Sesam trying to ensure his safety above all else.
"Sis.. I don't want to die.." Sesam whimpered in fear, only for Elva to defiantly retort against said fear "AND YOU WON'T!"; Elva wrapped Sesam in her wings as she tried to run across the ground, making it to the exit. Sesam watched as the doors on both sides of the plane rattled in a attempt to close, whilst Elva suddenly saw an exposed Panel, flying towards it and getting ready to tug at two pairs of seemingly important cables. "Come… on…" Elva groaned in haste, muffled with the cables in her beak as she suddenly yanked them all off.
In the blink of a eye, the Doors suddenly opened as wide as they ever could, until Sesam suddenly felt someone grab him and leap out of the plane. "AAAAGH-" Sesam yelped as he saw a glimpse of Elva's wings wrap around him, the Owls escaped not a moment too soon, the rush of the wings of the plane as it suddenly lost all power. Elva shielded Sesam as the two Owls impacted the ground just as quickly as they got out, Sesam only looked up at Elva and gave her a little nudge, "Sis… are you alright?" Sesam nervously whispered, as a frantic feeling started to stir in his mind.
---------
Elva would open her eyes several minutes later, whilst she did feel some pain, she was unharmed, but she felt something was missing. "Sesam… are you okay…" Elva groaned in pain as she got back on her feet, though she heard no no response as her vision cleared. Her little Brother nowhere in sight, "SESAM!" yelped Elva as she quickly rushed towards the wreck, "no no no no no no…" Elva worriedly repeated to herself as she clamboured inside the Plane, its doors had suddenly blasted open, but there was no sight of him within the wreck at all.
"W-What…" Elva shakily gasped as she quickly changed focus, she searched every nook and cranny of the plane for her little brother, only to find seemingly no trace. Elva stamped her Talons on the ground in a mix of Frustration, Anger, and Worry an hour later, "I shouldn't have allowed him to come here, I shouldn't have taken so long, I shouldn't have AGREED TO THIS!" Elva blustered, she got ready to stamp on the ground again until she saw what appeared to be her little Brother's footprints… something she hadn't noticed due to her focus on the plane itself.
"Wait- SESAM'S STILL HERE!" Elva suddenly exclaimed as she tried to follow the trail.. only to notice a few scratch marks in the soil that obscured the ones that lead into the forest. "Huh…?" Elva blurted out in confusion as she tried to follow the trail, the scratch marks becoming deeper and obscuring her little brothers footprints more and more, until they were barely indistinguishable from the ground around them. Elva turned and looked upon the scratch marks, they looked like they were made by Songbirds, but with deeper claws that had an similar ammount of precision and accuracy to a Owl like her, with each mark having three seperate, but consistent sizes…
And then a surge of quiet rage hit Elva as she realized just who made the marks…
"Stellan…" Elva muttered angrily under her breath, she knew she likely had no way to track Sesam down easily, and being unwilling to disturb Zale with his break, and with Evelyn and Baltazar currently being occupied as far as she was aware Elva was alone. If she was gonna find Sesam, she had to do it Solo.
Elva sighed as she readied herself for takeoff, "Hold on Ses, I'll find you" Elva whispered to herself as she took off the ground and disappeared into the forest.
---------
Sesam wearily trudged through the underbrush, not noticing Elva fly past as he sneaked under a bush, hearing a faint "Sesam! Where are you!?". Sesam turned to where the sound went "I'm…. here…" Sesam tiredly said, thinking the voice was just his imagination. The young Owlet let out a tired sigh, and tried to navigate his way back home.
Meanwhile three Birds flittered about above the forest floor as they stood just out of Sesam's sight, "So… he's alone" Bryce gleefully mused as he saw Sesam hop around cautiously. Bryce made a calculated turn of his head towards Stellan, the raven's feathers glinting like shards of Green Tinged Jet; "want to go after him?" Bryce asked.
Stellan looked up at Bryce, "not just yet, I have plans for our little scaredy Owl.." the Blue Jay whispered quietly whilst Galvyn looked around. "I think we've got trouble incoming Stells" Galvyn Mumbled as he saw a certain Wolf and Dog walking by. Stellan turned to Galvyn as the Magpie saw his blue feathers glint with alarm "Oh… you're right, seems we'll have to keep our little prize out of her grasp for now" Stellan quietly said.
Sesam hopped on top of a log "HELLO! IS ANYONE THERE!" Yelled the Owlet as he tried searching behind him, "Sure there is!" Bryce mockingly Replied as he landed just behind Sesam. Sesam, going against his better logic turned and saw the Black Raven towering over him. "Boo" Bryce whispered to Sesam, "WAAGH-" Sesam yelped as he quickly tried to get away from the Magpie "ANYONE BUT YOU!" Sesam yelped as he tried to hide in the bushes, Bryce gloatfully laughing behind him.
Sesam quickly tried to make his way through the brambles of flora around him, "Get away! Get away! Get away!" Sesam repeatedly and frantically yelled as he scampered below, glimpses of Blue, Black, and, Teal Wings burning into his mind until he ducked under a log, just as the Corvids had hoped. "He should be safe here for now…" Galvyn murmured to Bryce and Stellan, "Well, safe from everyone but us". Stellan said before all of the Corvids burst into laughter.
Sesam watched from the inside of the hollowed log, realizing there was a exit, so he quickly scampered away whilst he was out of sight, "please don't notice I'm gone…" Sesam whispered to himself as he quickly escaped through a hole on the side of the log. Hastily going as far as he could away from the Corvids.
As the commotion was going on away from her, Elva glided above the clutter on the forest floor with watchful eyes, "He can't have gone far…" Elva mumbled to herself anxiously, she'd eventually land on a rock and try search a set of bushes, Elva clawed past various branches with her talons as she cautiously navigated her way through the sharp branches. Being reminded of the time she got tangled up in vines a few weeks ago, and was confronted by an scar faced feline. As an sudden familiar voice echoed through her head, "you should be more fearful…" echoed the voice, Elva remembering the thunder claps and downpour of the event.
But whilst the event was scary for her at the time, now it fueled something else within Elva. Her brow furrowed as she responded to the voice in her head, "I'm not scared of them as much as I am of you or anyone else in the ruins." Elva asserted to herself as she trudged past the branches, eventually leaping through a clearing between them. "They may know about the tracks, but I know he's out there too, and I'll find Ses before any of them find him first… at least, I hope."
Elva opened her wings and took off, but anxiety tugged at her wings still. She closed her eyes as she unknowingly soared above the hot springs, not noticing Zale looking up overhead. "Elva?" Zale confusedly said, he quickly got out of the hot spring and shook off the water quickly, his suspicions confirmed as he watched Elva dive below into the canopy, something she wouldn't do if Sesam was travelling with her. "Hey! Wait up!" Zale yelped as he rushed after Elva, concern for both Sesam and his best friend starting to leak into the Fox's mind.
Elva landed and searched around anxiously before slumping down and exhaling a defeated sigh. "I'm sorry I didn't wake up sooner Ses… maybe you wouldn't be lost then…" Elva murmured to herself as she let herself fall into the cradle of one of the roots of a nearby tree. Not noticing a certain fox slowly approaching behind her.
Zale walked towards Elva with slow and gentle movements to not accidentally spook her as he looked down at her behind a tree branch, "Elva… Are you okay?" The Fox asked in a calm and comforting tone. Elva turned her head towards her friend as she recognized the concern in Zale's voice. "I-I lost Sesam" Elva sighed as she drooped and shut her eyes "we were in some weird metallic… thing, it almost turned on and me and Sesam had to rush out of it and…" Elva trailed off as she remembered the tracks… refocusing her objective as she decided to break clean about a personal issue her little brother had been facing.
"Sesam has been dealing with bullies for quite a while now, I usually didn't tell you about them because I could handle them myself, but this time it seems they've figured out that Sesam is separated from me right now and are trying to look for him" Elva stated to try catch up to Zale about what's going on
Zale's ears perked as he remembered a certain Blue Bird the met a while ago… "Wait… that Blue Jay was Sesam's bully?" Zale blurted with a bit of annoyance starting to leech into his voice, Elva perking up with recognition to Zale's sudden change in tone. "S-sorry Elva…." Zale awkwardly said as he shrunk back, only for Elva to respond, "No…. it's fine, I just came here to ask for help from you Zale…" responded Elva as her tailfeathers shifted uneasily. Zale stood up with confidence as he looked towards Elva "I'll go try help scout around here, I think I can get help from Auroa if she's in this region, and whilst my tracking may not be as good as Baltazar or Evelyn's, I can still track pretty well!" Zale chirped as his Tail swished side to side, "thanks Zale" Elva replied as her anxiety temporarily subsided, "no worries Elva!" Zale replied as he rushed into the Bushes. Whilst the two usually would usually be with each other when working together, this time they had to be apart to cover more ground.
Thus, Elva took off into the air once more as she and Zale were now working together to find Sesam. Though unbeknownst to them, the Jay pack was not gonna let their prize free so easily.
---------
Sesam quickly sneaked through the bushes and other objects of the forest Floor, always taking a moment to nervously look at the sky out of caution from the corvids. Their voiced echoing behind him, "Sesam where are youu!!!!" Galvyn yelled with feigned concern. Sesam usually would be a type to speak up with how rebellious he'd usually be… but he knew that if he did speak, the Corvids would know directly in where he was, and he didn't have such a good getaway.
Stellan stood on a branch as he took a short rest, "think we lost him?" Stellan asked Bryce as his head crest drooped a small bit, "maybe, but there's always next time right Stells?" responded Bryce, only for Stellan to not exactly take Bryce's Words so… well, "This is likely our only time to actually make a impact on Sesam when it comes to menacing him, especially since that brat since he thinks his Older Sister is gone, and you think I'M willing to wait next time!?" Stellan hissed towards Bryce with annoyance. "Sorry… didn't know how important it was" Bryce tiredly apologized until he and Stellan saw a familiar Fox's tail nearby.
"Zale…." Stellan murmured, as a very malicious plan started to form in his head "I've got an idea…". Bryce turned towards Stellan "You're not suggesting we-"; "we mob Zale…" Stellan calmly stated as he cut off Bryce, Galvyn landed on the Branch as he overheard the conversation, "Wait… we're going after the Fox?" Questioned the Magpie. "Yep… we're gonna mob him", Bryce turned, "that's Elva's BEST FRIEND, if WE go after him, WHO KNOWS WHAT SHE'LL DO TO US, THAT FOX IS JUST AS IMPORTANT TO HER AS SESAM IS!" The Raven barked as he saw the flaws in the plan, "You are right Bryce… but that Fox is also a crutch for Elva too. So if we go after him, we'll stop two birds with one stone".
Bryce tried to respond but was cut off by Galvyn "I LIKE THAT IDEA STELLAN! I LIKE IT A LOT!" Galvyn cackled the Magpie close to falling off the branch from his laughter, "see, he likes likes it Bryce, you're outnumbered 2-1 in our vote" Stellan smugly said whilst Bryce let out a tired sigh, "you're gonna regret this…".
---------
Sesam cowered in the tall grass, "I don't want to be alone…. please…" whimpered the Owlet to himself until he heard the voice of a Fox he knew. "SESAM! WHERE ARE YOU!" Zale yelled.
Sesam bolted his way out, but made sure to try still remain hidden. by rushing behind a tree, looking towards the origin of the sound and seeing Zale in the clearing. "OVER HERE!" Yelled Sesam with joy in his eyes, the nightmare the corvids had been inflicting on him was finally over as he rushed towards the Fox.
Zale kneeled down, "There you are! I think Elva was getting worried about you Sesam" Zale happily yapped as Sesam hugged the Fox on his face Sesam cheerfully laughing in turn as he was now seemingly safe… though unfortunately, this would not last.
"GET HIM!" Yelled Stellan as he, Bryce, and Galvyn all rushed towards Zale at once, the impact of the three Corvids knocking the Fox over as he tumbled back. Sesam's mind having so little time to process what happened whilst his emotions flashed from relief to shock and fear "ZALE!" Sesam gasped in Shock.
Zale stood up, "I'm.. okay.. Sesam.." Zale responded, lightly bruised, but not majorly harmed… but the assault of the Corvids was not gonna stop there.
Before Zale could properly react, he saw Bryce suddenly impacting him directly in the cheek whilst the other two corvids dive bombed his back and shoulders, "OW- STOP!", Zale yelped from the brief shots of pain the corvids were doing. "Hmm… how about no?" Stellan Smugly said, "your Barn Owl friend isn't here to protect you, that yellow dog isn't here to protect you, and that wolf isn't here either! The only friend who can protect you here is an Owlet who can't even stand up for himself that well" Gloated Stellan Pridefully.
"THEN LEAVE HIM ALONE!" Zale snapped as he tried to fight back against the Corvids, swiping his paw through the air and trying to pounce at them, though missing every time as the Birds flittered and flew around him, dodging every hit the blue eyed Fox tried to inflict.
Stellan watched in glee as his friends helped do the mobbing with him, Zale's resolve slowly beind widdled down as he was being exhausted and forced to play defensive. An small chuckle reaching through to the Blue Jay as he thought about Elva's reaction and the freedom he'd now get towards Sesam… all whilst Sesam himself watched on the ground almost paralyzed with fear… the words of what Stellan said to Zale about him not being able to stand up for himself echoing in the poor Owlet's mind, until something else did.
Sesam's mind flashed to the last time he was bullied by the Corvids when Elva came to the rescue and found him cowering in fear. Her voice speaking up inside Sesam's head, "You are strong… and at least you'll always have me". Sesam's body suddenly stopped tensing up, he taking deep breaths quickly as he saw Stellan land on the ground, watching Zale try hunker down and cover his face from the impacts of Bryce and Galvyn. The Blue Jay trying to restrain a laugh, but in a state where he could be ambushed. Sesam made a mad dash towards Stellan, his mind focused on protecting Zale despite his small size as he leaped into the air and hit the Blue Jay directly in the face with his talons, Stellan staggering back from the impact as he let out a surprised squawk that caused Bryce and Galvyn to stop.
Sesam looked up, only to be met with the gaze of an extremely aggravated Blue Jay. "Did you just hit me Sesam" Stellan angrily snapped as Sesam's confidence started to fragment. "I- I- uh…." Stuttered Sesam whilst Bryce and Galvyn looked in shock towards both Sesam and Stellan, "Did you just hit me!" Stellan repeated, anger flooding the Blue Jay's eyes as his pupils shrank to pin pricks. Sesam turned up as Stellan got too close for comfort, even his pompadour being in the Blue Jay's Shadow, "I didn't I- AAAGH!". Sesam felt Stellan suddenly smack him in the face with his wing, "YES YOU DID!" Stellan blustered. "AND NOW, YOU'LL KNOW YOUR PLACE!".
Stellan ruthlessly battered Sesam whilst Zale was too weak to get up, a yell of both fear and anger going through the Fox's mind as he struggled to stand. Only being able to watch as Sesam got struck by Stellan rapidly. Sesam being unable to keep up with the hits of kicks and smacks from the Blue Jay, eventually being knocked off his feet by the Corvid as he tumbled back into the forest…
Sesam was bruised, his resolve broken by the Blue Jay… but he landed at the talons of someone he recognized… and what Stellan felt as he realized who it was not triumph… but fear.
---------
Elva walked out of the shade of the trees, barely holding onto her cool. "Elva- I-" Stellan stuttered fearfully, "I'm tired of your excuses." Elva stated, her voice seemed calm, but Stellan and everyone could tell that what Stellan had done awakened a side of Elva that everyone, not even Morpheus or Phonas had seen before as they could tell her seemingly calm voice was shaking with boiling rage.
"I never thought you'd have the nerve.. to hit Sesam… let alone hurt my best friend…" Elva shakily snarled as she stepped out of the shade, "you've really gone too far today Stellan."
Stellan stepped back as Galvyn and Bryce stood infront of the Blue Jay in a attempt to protect him. "W-we've heard of your normal behaviour Elva" Galvyn said, "You wouldn't hurt Stellan right? You're too good for that.." Bryce followed up, two corvids looking at the Barn Owl with unease in their eyes as she stared at them with fear inducing calm as she replied, "Not today…".
Elva suddenly grabbed Bryce by the chest and slammed him directly into Galvyn, the two Corvids yelled in pain from the brief impact as her hit was significantly more strong than it was the last time she confronted them. All whilst Elva continued her approach towards Stellan right after, "I've held back my emotions against you long enough Stellan" Elva asserted towards the Blue Jay as he shrank back, "now… I THINK IT'S TIME I STOP HERE" yelled Elva as her eerily calm tone transitioned into a one of pure fury.
Stellan's mind echoed with one word, 'RUN'. And the Blue Jay took off on the spot, Elva doing the same as she flew above Stellan and lunged directly at him, talons outstretched as she was ready to grab the Corvid with all her might. Stellan let out a horrified yelp as he felt Elva's right Talon wrap around his chest, the two birds loosing altitude just as quickly as they had gained it as Elva turned mid air crashed Stellan's body into the Soil below. Stellan tried to hit Elva with his feet as hard as he could, only for them to leave futile blows that did nothing in turn. Elva yelled as she hit Stellan hard, the Blue Jay recoiling from the pain as Elva continued her own attack on the Corvid's body. Kicking and stomping on Stellan with her feet all whilst the Blue Jay could only leave hits that barely impacted Elva's enraged mind. The two birds not noticing Zale and Sesam getting up behind them.
"ZALE! Are you alright!?" Sesam frantically yelled as he rushed towards the Fox, "I'm fine Ses… I just…" Zale and Sesam looked onwards in shock as they saw Elva fight with extreme ferocity, Zale looking on in terror. "I've never seen her get this angry before…" Zale whispered.
After an flurry of blows, Elva grabbed Stellan by the chest and pinned the Blue Jay to an nearby rock, his wings and talons could only claw at the air as Elva stared at the Blue Jay directly into his soul. "It's time I finish this!" Elva snapped as she gazed down at Stellan with rage fueled eyes. Her head started getting ready to use her beak in a attempt to finish off the Blue Jay once and for all, the rush of the impact already coursing through her mind… until she felt someone tug at her leg.
"STOP!" yelled Sesam as he wrapped his wings around Elva's Leg, "PLEASE… JUST STOP!" Sesam pleaded as he tried to get through to his older sister. Elva in both confusion and surprise responded; "HE HURT YOU!" Elva shakily yelled, "I DON'T CARE ABOUT HIM, I JUST DON'T WANT YOU TO BECOME A MONSTER!" Sesam bawled in fear, Elva also looking at Zale staring at her with unease in his stance. Elva slowly came back to her senses as she stared down at Stellan, realization of what she was about to do as she let out a tired sigh. "I guess I'll have to let you go…" Elva said as she released Stellan from her grasp, the Blue Jay slumping down as he hyperventilated in exhaustion. "But that doesn't change that you are one of, if not, the most pathetic person I have ever met in this entire forest. So don't ever come near any of my friends or family ever again." Elva followed up as she lowered her head down to look the Blue Jay directly in the face with eyes of contempt, slowly turning her back on the Blue Jay. "I'll tell my dad about this, and let's just say he won't be so happy".
Elva looked as she saw Sesam cowering on the ground with slight bruises, but pretty much alright. She inhaled a deep breath and carefully kneeled down, "come on, lets leave this place" Elva said gently to Sesam in a caring tone, Sesam nodded and climbed onto Elva's back whilst she helped Zale get up. The three made glanced towards the clearing behind them as Stellan got back up on his feet before turning back and walking on.
A few minutes later after they quickly stopped to the hot springs, Elva continued walking down the forest alongside Zale, with Sesam clinging to the Fox's back. "I'm sorry I got so… angry, I didn't know I could even feel that way Zale…" Elva nervously whimpered, "I feel like I'm just a piece of string waiting to snap...".
Zale turned his head as he got ready to reply "There's nothing wrong with looking out for me or Sesam Elva, you saw us getting hurt. Sure you could've harmed Stellan, but you shouldn't feel bad about caring for us Elva… Stellan pushed you over the edge today, it makes sense to me why you'd get so angry considering how much you hold back" Zale stated in a calm tone, "you're not a danger to us or anyone around you Elva, you just wanted to keep me and Sesam safe" responded the Fox as he looked at Elva with eyes of understanding. Elva letting out a shy, but grateful smile in turn, "thank you, Zale" said Elva, her tan body loosening up as she shed some of the fear she had. "No worries!" Zale replied in turn.
At last they had made it back home, Elva walked into the hollow whilst Sesam clung to her back. "Hey Dad…" Elva said to Xerxes as he shifted behind her, taking note of the bruises on Sesam's body. "ELVA! Are you and Zale alright!?" Xerxes blurted out as he carefully, but quickly rushed towards his children. "We're fine… it's just that… Sesam has been dealing with bullies for quite a while, and whilst usually I was able to protect him from them, this time they got me and Ses separated" Elva stated as she got ready to follow up, "this time they tried to Mob Zale since he was helping me look for Sesam, and their leader hit Ses a lot because Ses tried to protect Zale.." Elva tiredly sighed.
Xerxes wrapped his Wings around Elva and Sesam in a protective embrace, "I promise I'll work with Bjorgvin to try get this resolved Elva, please don't worry about it any longer" Xerxes said as he got ready to step out of the Hollow, Elva felt a bump in her throat, and she decided to speak. "Dad… I have another thing to say about this" Elva said as she watched her dad almost get ready to take off, "Hm? What's that dear?" Xerxes asked.
Elva felt nervousness stir up in her throat, but she stuck to her plan. "I-I almost dispatched the person who hit Sesam… I don't know why, all I know is that I just felt… a-angry" Elva shakily stated, expecting her dad to meet her with scorn as she closed her eyes. Xerxes sighed, "You tried to protect your little brother and friend Elva, that's all that matters to me." Responded Xerxes with care in his voice, "I promise, you're not in any trouble Elva.. and I'm glad you tried to protect your little brother and friend either way."
Elva nodded, "I understand". Watching as Xerxes let out a tired smile before launching himself off the branch. Elva found a couple of leaves and wrapped them over the bruises on Sesam's wing, "this should help… I hope" Elva said as she and Sesam hopped down the tree. "Thanks for protecting us Elva" Zale happily chuckled as he leaned close towards his friend, Sesam wrapping his wings around her legs. "You may be annoying sometimes, but I'm glad you protect me Sis!" Sesam said in turn.
Elva wrapped her wings around both of her friends, "You two are too sweet" Elva happily sighed before the three got ready to move on their way, "we should probably be fine at Evelyn's place for a while…" Zale said as the two Owls and the fox walked into the forest as the sun peered through the cloud adorned skies, the radiant blue still shimmering through towards them.

So >:3
This piece of art is now its own Story ^w^
Sadly I can't gurantee Telsk's return anytime soon, if ever since that guy felt too much like a OC compared to the rest of the cast 'lD
But since we do have other Webseries characters who haven't really got anything as of recent....
AND ALSO
With Xerxes and Bjorgvin not having had much relevance, something tells me that well...
let's just say a black cat is gonna make a proper return.
-------------------------
A few days ago….
Morpheus and Phonas had exchanged frenzied blows on top of the skyscraper for hours on end, the two hitting with quick and fast swipes towards each other until Morpheus finally hit Phonas, the Noctule tumbling on his side. "Face it, you can't beat me" Morpheus snarled assertively as Phonas stared, "You're right… which is why I have this."
Phonas tossed a black disc shaped device that flashed red with a small beeping sound once every second… the flashing slowly, but surely getting faster. All whilst Morpheus stared at the Device with disbelief, "You wouldn't dare." Said Morpheus as he looked at Phonas. "I did what you were too afraid to do Morpheus, and now, I'll let you eat this as a flash of light for what things are to come."
The flashing suddenly froze with a bright red, a rapid beeping from the device as Morpheus's ears eyes suddenly overwhelmed by a bright, painful white. "GAH-" Yelped Morpheus as he staggered back from the flashbang, Phonas cackling as he jumped off the building and glided down.
Morpheus suddenly lost his footing and fell off the building only righting himself in the nick of time as he crashed into a dumpster, all the cats who were on the skyscraper at the time rushed down the building as soon as they saw their leader fall.
"MORPHEUS, ARE YOU ALRIGHT?" Asked one Brown Cat looking down at him, "I'm… fine…" groaned Morpheus as he pulled himself out.. wincing at a now broken shoulder. "You're lucky you survived that sir…" the Brown Cat said as Morpheus turned his head towards him, "I know… but I don't care, that Bat must be stopped at any cost." Said Morpheus before sighing as he began his limp back to the Library, the other cats following behind their leader.
TALES OF ZALE: ELVA'S SONG, CHAPTER 4
----------------
Elva and Zale continued their Rush through the forest, weaving through the undergrowth until they reached a field of long strands.
Elva perched herself on a branch as she gazed down the steppe "This place is different..." Elva noted with her eyes gazing down upon the fields until she saw what looked to be another version of the ruins. "Hey, what did you see Elva?" Zale asked curiously as he looked up at Elva with wide eyes, "I think there's another ruins... but it looks different".
Zale stared back at the new ruins, before looking back towards Elva to ask him a question "Do you think we could go there?".
Elva pondered, "Well... they could be just as dangerous as the one nearby, but I don't think Morpheus or Phonas have gone there." Elva hesitantly sighed before continuing her statement, "I think we could, but we shouldn't go there directly. I have a feeling those tunnels below the Ruins are connected to these ones somehow".
Around 10 minutes later, Zale and Elva rushed back into the ruins, though this time they were very weary to avoid the second level of Silvania city, the two friends walked down the sidewalk until they found the ruins of what used to be an subway station.
"Well, this is a bit scary Zale..." Elva whispered to Zale cautiously, "we should be fine if we know what we're doing" Zale followed up, before Elva followed him into the abandoned Subway car. "Do you even know how to run this thing Zale?" Elva questioned her friend, though trying to still remain kind. "Uhhhh, I think this throttle does something" Zale said as he flicked it to the max.
An droning Whirr escaped the Subway car was it flared to life, the lights of the Train lighting up once more as it suddenly sped foreward through the Tracks
Elva and Zale were knocked off their seats, "ZALE, what did you do." Elva said as she felt the Train moving through the pitch black tunnel around them. Zale watched as the Subway sped through the tunnel, seemingly hypnotized by the darkness around them. "I don't know, think we might be going to our destination soon, Elva" Zale replied.
Suddenly after around 2 minutes of moving, the Train suddenly skidded to a grinding hault "LOW POWER" boomed a Deep mechanical voice from the system as it dropped in pitch. Catching both Elva and Zale offguard, "WAAH!" yelped Elva, her brownish tan feathers shooken by the voice. "ELVA! Are you alright?!" Zale worriedly asked his friend, "I-I'm fine Zale, don't worry yourself please" Elva chuckled halfheartedly as she tried to regain her composure. "Now, I think we should get out of here" Elva suggested to Zale, his tail swaying slowly.
As she and Zale were getting out, the dust was quite an problem as Elva softly sneezed.
"Achoo.... oh, sorry about that Zale.." Elva sheepishly apologized until she heard the Train flicker to life once more, only to ram against the end of the tracks.
Suddenly the entrance Underground station they were in began to collapse, Zale and Elva's eyes both widening in caution as they quickly rushed towards the exit. "ZALE! HURRY!" Elva yelled frantically as she bolted towards the exit, making sure to glance back at the blue eyed fox behind her, "RIGHT BEHIND YOU!" Yelled Zale in tandem as he caught up to her.
The two friends barely got out, Elva and Zale both hitting the ground with a soft thud. "Zale! Are you alright?!" Elva worriedly asked her friend as she got off the ground. "I'm alright..." answered Zale as he stood up.
Elva looked forwards, analyzing the landscape around her "Well... for the good news, I think we're in the other ruins now..." Elva stated, before continuing. "And as for the bad news... the shortcut is destroyed". Elva ended her statement with a groan of annoyance as she realized she and Zale would have to walk down to the forest the long way.
Zale's ears pivoted "Sorry Elva..." apologized the fox as his snout drooped downward, Elva turned to speak to her friend "No, it's my fault Zale for sneezing..." Elva quickly replied, Elva looked at the ruined buildings behind her friend before glancing back at him and putting up a calm smile, "since we're here anyway we might as well just go explore the rest of this place Zale". Zale looked up as Elva put her left wing on his shoulder "come on, let's go" Elva said cheerfully, "Right behind you!" Zale said as he quickly bounced up, trying to respond to the Tan Barn Owl's comfort with his own usual enthusiasm.
Elva and Zale dashed across the path, with Elva making sure to keep her friend in her line of sights.. though she was not noticing the giant watching them in the shade between the trees as it let out an aggravated growl.
Elva landed on one of the lampposts, before feeling a slimy sensation now "huh?" blurted Elva before she looked at her Talons, now covered in moss. "eughhh" Elva sneered right before she hopped off the lamppost, and gracefully landed on the ground below feet first, clearing her talons quickly, put off from the texture of the moss on them.
Zale skidded by exhausted, "sorry I'm late" Zale huffed as he walked up to Elva, "It's fine. Besides, you were the one who wanted me to come anyways" Elva chuckled softly as she and her friend walked forward deeper into the Suburban Ruins.
--------
Elva continued her path until she heard something scurrying amidst the debris... "Zale, hold on..." Elva said as she perked up, trying to locate the target "I think I notice something".
The mouse carried an small piece of Seeds to a pile of things they had, "phew, that should hopefully do for now..." wheezed the rodent as she laid down tiredly. "Hey there!" Suddenly exclaimed Zale as Elva moved away the top of their den.
"AAAH" Yelled the Mouse as she backed herself up into a concrete corner "DON'T EAT ME!!"
Elva looked at the Mouse with confusion "... What? We're not even hungry, and besides. Mice don't taste very good to me or Zale..." Elva clarified towards the Mouse as she looked up back at her, a sense of relief befalling them. "Phew.... well it is a bit odd seeing a Fox around here considering how... long it's been" the Mouse said as she looked at Zale, Zale's ears perked "Wait? Have you seen a Fox?" Zale said, his tail swaying for answers as he moved up close to the Mouse, now a lot more uncomfortable.
"Ehhh... I think so, but I'll need a book. My friends usually refer to me as "The Teller" since I tend to keep a lot of info stored in my Noggin, but you can call me Auroa if you want". Auroa said nervously as they stared at Zale.
"Okay!" Zale said joyfully, "so, where do we get that book?".
Auroa looked back up at Zale as she tried to regain composure "well, i-it's in the library, but I should warn you I haven't gone there in months and for good reason" Auroa's tone shifted as she closed her eyes, "there's a Bear who started using it as his Den... and I'm very worried you two could get hurt".
Elva looked at Zale "Did she just say what I think she did?" Elva asked in disbelief towards Zale. Noticing the Mouse turned up to look at her, "Yes, and he's not a very nice one..". Auroa sighed, "look this is mostly for my own goals as that book is quite important and I'm not strong enough to get that Book out of there, but you don't have to risk your lives to get my Book if you want".
Zale, noticing Elva's concern discreetly got both Auroa and Elva's attention, "Hey, do you mind if I talk with you on this Elva?" Zale asked politely. Elva quickly perked up to confront her friend's request as she composed herself hastily, "sure".
Zale got ready to speak as he was going first. "I think we should go help Auroa out, I know that you are there for me. But I am honestly a bit worried that whatever happened to the other Foxes could happen to me..." Zale's ears drooped as he continued, seeing Elva attentively listen "so I think we should check for the book Elva, you've always wanted to keep me safe so this may help". Elva nodded, "Look, I'd usually object to something like this. But I'm willing to make an exception here" Elva inhaled as she was about to continue, "I just want to ask this, are you sure we'll be able to avoid Tartarus, Zale? I'm all ears if you think we are, but in my opinion if you aren't. I really don't want to risk losing you" Elva said with a bit of shakiness in her voice, her talons clenching the ground anxiously.
Zale put on a comforting smile as he shifted to a more friendly stance, "you were brave enough to stand up to Morpheus Elva, I'm sure we'll be able to pass right by Tartarus without him even knowing" Zale replied calmly, looking at his friend encouragingly.
Elva sighed, "fine, I suppose it won't be too much of a hassle to move around that Bear."
---------------
Elva, Auroa, and Zale quietly moved towards the Library, "it seems like he's not there.." Auroa said as she sat on top of Zale's head, Zale smiled, "well, let's go!". Zale and Elva scurried into the Library as they moved silently across the bookshelves, eventually finding a green backed diary, "that's the one!" Auroa said joyfully, Elva smiled, "well all that we need to do is go and—". CLONK!
Elva had accidentally knocked over an hard covered book with her wings, the sound it made stirred a large, imposing figure outside. As he marched into the building.
This was Tartarus.
Elva without a second to spare suddenly yelled in alarm, "EVERYBODY RUN!" Zale quickly picked up speed as Elva grabbed the book in her talons. Tartarus uttered words of rage "GET... OUT.. NOW!" yelled the Bear in a voice that was just as uncanny as it was terrifying, the yell quickly fading into a thunderous roar as the Brown Bear pounded forward with unnatural speed. His body slamming into the Walls of the Library hard.
Elva, taken off guard suddenly lost grip of the Diary as it fell to the floor with a faint thud, "NO!" gasped Elva as she tried to grab it, only for Tartarus to budge in as he roared at the Owl, "GET OUT!!". Elva rolled out of the way, barely dodging the Bear. Elva having gotten out of the building turned as she saw Zale backed into a corner, her body tensed as it seemingly got ready to try fight Tartarus, "ZALE! GET OUT OF THERE!" Elva yelled in Fear for her friend's life. Zale turned to look at Elva as Tartarus stared him down, "But we won't get the book if I don't-". Auroa cut in, "IT'S JUST A BOOK! GET OUT OF THERE NOW!". Screamed the Mouse.
Zale tried to evaluate his decisions until he noticed Tartarus starting to rear on his hind legs getting ready to claw him into the ground in the corner of his eye. The fear causing him to freeze in place for a split second.
Elva gasped quickly grabbed a book with her talons as she dashed into the library for just a minute and flinging it towards Tartarus with all of her might, and not a moment too soon. Its heard cover smacked Tartarus in the face as he quickly lost his balance and fell into a bookshelf, allowing Zale to escape.
Auroa clung to Zale as he and Elva rushed away from the building. "I'm sorry I dragged the both of you two into this" Auroa whimpered guiltily, "We'll be fine" Zale replied as the three stopped near the edge of the Suburban Ruins. Elva and Zale skidded on the ground, the two panting as they stared at the Library. Elva almost collapsed onto the ground, exhausted from the encounter. "I think we lost him" Elva panted as she turned towards Zale.
Zale sighed, "Well I'm glad that's over..." huffed the Fox. Meanwhile, Elva glanced at Auroa, who was currently sitting on top of Zale's head "Sorry I dropped your Book, Auroa" Elva said Apologetically. "Don't be, I think I'll try record my findings in a new book..." Auroa sighed before a thought popped into her head, "say, you two are from the forest right?" Asked the Mouse.
"Yeah, what about it?" Zale replied in turn, Auroa tried to steady herself, "well, I suggest you two head back soon, Tartarus usually patrols nearby and it's currently noon." Auroa informed Elva and Zale as she hopped off Zale's head.
"In other words, it's for the best you two head back now". Elva and Zale nodded, "we will then" Elva responded softly, looking at the Mouse with respect. "Take care Auroa!" Zale yelled happily as he and Elva rushed away from the Rodent. "You too kids!" Auroa replied joyously.
The two rushed through the broken village with high speed, leaves rushing past the two as if they were frozen in time. "So since we'll have to take the long way home, do you need me to look out?" Elva enquired Zale as she soared overhead, "Maybe, but I'd prefer if you stay nearby!" Zale answered as the wind blew behind him.
Eventually however, something caught Elva's eye. "Zale, I think I see something" Elva stated as she went to investigate, "following right behind you!" said Zale.
The two friends hopped off the edge of the Suburban Ruins, with Zale quickly bouncing down various pieces of Debris whilst Elva gracefully landed near the shiny object. "Hmmm..." Elva thought to herself as she picked up the object, "seems like its meant to help navigate".
The object in her hand had some kind of arrow, with the letters 'N, S, W, E' arranged in a way that opposed each other. Dials like that of a clock pointing around, Elva moved the object in her talons, watching the Arrow spin towards some kind of direction as she held turned it. The Arrow almost gyroscopically staying in place.
"Zale, I think this could help us head home" Elva remarked, "maybe we should follow the Arrow?" Zale chimed. Elva looked, "I'm not sure, but we should try, though it may be a bit of an issue holding this."
"Wait!" Zale said loudly as he got an idea I've got something in mind...", Zale fetched a piece of blue String, "Elva, could you tie this around my neck?" Zale asked his friend politely, "Oh? Sure!" Elva obliged as she threaded the string through the compass with her beak, loosely tying it to her friend's head. "There, that should do for now" Elva stated as Zale looked at the new pendant.
"I think it fits me quite well" Zale happily said as he turned towards Elva "I think I'm as stylish as you now" joked the Fox with a smirk on his face, "Well you don't have to say that twice" Elva sassily chuckled, amused by her friend.
Meanwhile within the Ruins, Baltazar was sniffing around, "where are they..." the Golden Retriever said with an focused look on his face, "Are you sure they went right back here after what happened with Phonas?" Evelyn commented, Baltazar turned "Well as a hound, I seem to have an extremely strong sense of smell. And I think they went down that tunnel?". Evelyn and Baltazar went down into the station, "it seems they took one of those wheeled things and rode away on it". Remarked the Golden Retriever. Evelyn groaned, "well we're not gonna get to them fast enough if we go down this route" Evelyn remarked as she rushed up the steps, "Hey! Where are you going Evelyn!?" Baltazar confusedly said as he chased the Wolf. "The fastest point is a straight line, so we're going to those weird buildings in the distance!" Replied Evelyn.
Back with Elva and Zale, the Fox and Owl were moving through the undergrowth at an leisurely pace, "you know Elva, I wonder how Sesam is feeling right now" Zale asked his friend. Elva turned to look at Zale, "Well I hope to see Ses soon, I do want to bring something to him as..." Elva trailed off as her tone fell "well as an gift for what happened Earlier". Elva remnisced on what Sesam said under his brief manipulation from Phonas, the words of hatred and betrayal uttered by him feeling as fresh wounds that had only just begun to heal. Pain still apparent beneath her surface as she shakily sighed, trying to focus away from her pain.
Zale turned upward, "Hey, he knows that your care for him is truly geniune. Right Elva?" Zale reminded his friend as he watched her glance back down to look at him for just a brief bit. "Yeah, I hope", replied Elva with a bit of unease.
---------
Suddenly, heavy pounding was shaking the forest Floor. The two friends heard a familiar Roar that struck all too well...
"ZALE! RUN!" Elva yelled as she turned towards the sound. "COME HERE!!!" Howled Tartarus as he rushed towards Elva and Zale, moving as an avalanche of fur and muscle, his booming voice echoing with wrongness. Elva swooped at the Bear, "WHY WON'T YOU LEAVE MY FRIEND ALONE" Elva yelled in both anger and fear as she swooped at the Ursine to protect her friend. Tartarus animalistically in turn roared at the Owl, the deafening sound seemingly without thought or reason.
Tartarus Swiped at Elva as she turned and fled into the treetops, thrusting through the branches with impeccable speed as the Roars of the Bear Became fainter. Elva looked around as she decided to reunite with Zale, "I hope he's okay..." Elva whispered to herself as she glided down.
Elva landed on the forest floor "Zale! Where are you!" Elva yelled, concerned of her friend's current status. Zale peaked out of his hiding spot as he heard her voice, "I'm here Elva!".
Elva rushed over and gave her friend a Hug, "Thank goodness you're okay" Elva sighed as her wings wrapped around Zale tightly. Zale rested his neck over Elva "I'm fine, don't worry" Zale said assuredly. Elva and Zale got back on their feet as Elva thought hard, "Alright, that Compass seems to have been quite Helpful so far, so I suggest we need to hurry up!" Elva stated confidently, "only issue is I don't actually think we've-".
"Come here." Tartarus Murmured as he stepped out of the Shade. "You two will be hunted... until your lifeforce is extinguished" said the bear, his Brown body looming over the two with anticipation.
Elva and Zale tensed, as Elva realized the true context of Tartarus's aggression, "he's hunting us." Elva whispered to Zale fearfully, but a spark of hope glinted through her mind. "Zale, I have a plan".
Elva moved in front of Zale, putting herself between Tartarus and her friend, "I don't know if you can understand me Tartarus, but if you want my friend, you'll have to go through me'. Elva asserted at the Bear, caught within its Shadow.
Tartarus scowled, as he reared up on his hind legs. Elva quickly got ready to take off, "ZALE! NOW!" Yelled Elva as Tartarus got ready to slam his body on top of the two. They both narrowly dodged with only seconds to spare, Elva dive bombed Tartarus on his head, hitting him right in the eye. Tartarus roared in fury as he clutched his eye, growling with seething rage as he saw Elva rush away to reunite with her friend.
Meanwhile just a few minutes away, the roar of Tartarus hit two Familiar Canids. "That's a Bear Roar!" gasped Baltazar, "we need to turn back now-". The Golden Retriever's sentence was cut off "WHAT IF ELVA AND ZALE ARE IN TROUBLE!" Evelyn Snapped towards him. "I'm going to save them, and I don't care about what you think. Our friends might be in danger, so if you want to stay here. THEN SO BE BALTS!".
Evelyn quickly rushed off as Baltazar, still trying to process what happened softened up a little. "I'm really gonna regret this.." Bemoaned the Golden Retriever as he followed behind.
As Elva and Zale were rushing away, seemingly about to enter a clearance. Until Zale suddenly caught something snag the string Elva tied around his neck and the compass, "ACK!" Zale suddenly blurted out. Elva turned, "ZALE! What's wrong!?" Elva asked with panic in her voice.
Zale tugged, "IT'S STUCK!" Zale grunted as he tried to get free. Elva quickly sprung up and found out the String was caught in similar vines to the ones she got stuck in as she was going to see him at the ruins a few months ago, "I'll help" Elva grunted as she tried to steady herself hastily, trying to yank the string free with her talons and beak as she heard the pounding of Tartarus in the distance. "Just... got it..." Elva grunted as was almost about to cut the last few fibers, until Tartarus came in.
Elva and Zale by instinct dodged, the String's last fibers giving out from the jolt of Zale as Tartarus slammed right into the spot the Barn Owl and Fox were just standing.
Zale soon realized the danger he was in as he was about to fall off the cliff, "ELVA! HELP!" Zale yelled before he quickly yanked the compass, clutching, but failing to stay on the cliff with his paws as he slid off. Elva quickly noticed and swooped in, "I'VE GOT YOU ZALE!" Elva yelled as she grabbed Zale by his tail, Zale turned, "Thanks.. Elva" Zale sighed, only to notice that she was starting to struggle. "You're... too... heavy..." Elva grunted as she started loosing Altitude, she tried to secure herself by grabbing onto a root with her beak and flapping as hard as she could, "just... need.. to hold on.. longer!".
Tartarus loomed over the two on a nearby cliff as Evelyn and Baltazar arrived, all three watching Elva and Zale struggle on the edge of the cliff, "THEY'RE GONNA FALL!" Evelyn exclaimed. Evelyn's confidence began to falter as she assumed that her friends' fate had been sealed, "T-this is so bad.. I-I" the Wolf's whimpers were suddenly cut off by Baltazar, "WELL DON'T JUST STAND THERE IN FEAR" Baltazar barked, understanding how serious things were. "COME AND HELP OUT!" yelled the dog he rushed to grab a large branch that had fallen to the forest floor right after the forest fire a while ago. Evelyn walked and saw Baltazar heaving to grab the branch as she contemplated her decision.
Tartarus was about to inch closer, ready to knock the both off as a rustle in the bushes caught his attention. "Stay there..." snarled the Bear as he walked into the forest.
Seeing the opportunity, Baltazar and Evelyn grabbing the stick leaned it over the cliff edge, "COME ON! GRAB IT!" Baltazar Barked, muffled by the woody object in his mouth. Zale and Elva clutched onto the branch, with Zale allowing Elva some respite as he held the Owl close to him as the two Canids pulled them up.
Meanwhile back in the forest, Tartarus was about to turn back, realizing that Elva and Zale had escaped... only for a different being just as strong, if not. Stronger than him to stop him in his tracks.
"I ain't letting you get in the way" Bruhn stated authoritatively, the Bison's ghostly form tense and strong. Before Tartarus could even respond, he felt as if he was being hit by an falling tree as Bruhn rammed into the Bear. Tartarus roared in pain, as his heavy body crashed into a tree with a Heavy Thud, the Bear Swiped at Bruhn trying to fight back, only for his claws to phase through as if nothing was there.
Elva turned up, to look at her friends "we need to go before Tartarus gets back!" Elva wheezed as she tried to stand up on her legs, Zale helping her stand. "You don't have to say that twice" The Fox tiredly replied. Just then, a pained Roar emitted from where the Bear was as they heard something crash to the forest floor, it growled at something else that bellowed with seemingly unnatural might.
"Well come on, let's go!" Evelyn hastily said as she allowed Elva to clutch onto her back. The four friends rushed away, not to find out who'd be the victor of the battle.
Back nearing the end of the day, an recently recovered Elva flew just under the canopy, watching her friend slowly glide over him with grace. I think I'll take a break from our adventures together for a While Zale." Elva chuckled, whilst she was a bit tired from the ordeal she had just went through. The Sass in her voice was still apparent as she smiled softly at her friend.
"Oh? Hello dear" Elanor said as she peaked up from the hollow, "Hey Mom, sorry I came back so late.." Elva apologized as she felt someone hug her leg, only to see them bashfully turn away. "It was fun being on my own for a bit, but I missed you for most of the day" Sesam muttered as he looked to the ground.
Elva hugged her little brother with her wings, "I missed you too Ses" Elva lovingly responded as she held him close. Zale looked up as the skies above started to turn to night before focusing on the hollow, "Hey Elva?" Zale yelled, hoping to get his friend's attention. Elva heard the sound and looked at her little brother "Hey, I need to talk to Zale for a bit Ses" Elva whispered as she let go of Sesam, and hopped over to look at her friend. "What is it Zale?"
Zale turned to focus on her friend's face, knowing the recent adventure they went through. "Do you mind if I sleep near your hollow tonight?" Zale asked calmly. Elva focused down on the fox, his blue eyes glinting softly, "I don't see why not" Elva answered caringly as she turned to her little brother.
"Well, good night for now Zale!" Elva chirped as she looked at her friend for just a bit, "Good night to you too Elva!" Zale happily responded in Turn as he curled up to a particularly comfortable spot behind Elva's Tree.
Elva tucked right next to her little brother, holding him close with her wings. "Goodnight Sesam" Elva sleepily said as she closed her eyes. Watching the stars begin to twinkle on the horizon.

Deep within the Ruins ontop of one of the skyscrapers. Phonas watched as the Sun began to set over the horizon. As an old foe of his walked behind him, "I think we need to talk about your... recent actions, Noctule."
"Well, if it isn't my old friend" Phonas said, knowing who was standing behind him in confrontation of the Chiropteran, "Don't shift the topic here, you know what you've done to someone connected to an certain Blue Eyed Fox I know, Phonas." Snarled the voice behind him.
Phonas turned pridefully as he locked eyes with who he was talking with, his own guess now confirmed. "Ah, still got that scar from the boss I see" Phonas sleazily taunted, the sun setting behind him as he looked down the at Feline as if he was above him.
The Cat stood up as his own claws were on the verge of unsheathing as he stared down the Noctule. "If that wasn't clear enough to you, then let me repeat this one last time, what did you do to Elva's brother Phonas?" Morpheus Asserted, ready to strike alongside his fellow cats as they watched around behind him carefully...
A showdown was about to begin.
