25. Bubble

Yarerin Glass Sword of the Early Dark War Period

This “glass” sword was crafted very soon after the outbreak of the great war between the Netherin and the Yarerin, a mere two decades after the Invasion of the Sleepers.

The blade itself is made of a glass-like material, the bubble inclusions are actually breaths containing blessings and spells of protection and strength. The golden hands on the handle and pommel are representative of the Hands of Creation, with which El-Mualel is said to have crafted the world with…

The mask icon and the seemingly abstract decorative element on on the pommel indicate that it was made for a member of Yr Aesharon Euraïðenyth, the House of Golden Starrs. Specifically, for a direct descendant of the God of the Elves, El-Mualel (also named The View of a Forest of One Hundred Thousand Golden Trees). Swords with such iconography are very rare, as members of the House of Golden Stars were often Oracles and were discouraged from endangering themselves by participating in actual battles, lest their rare Oracular skills be lost, and with them, the Yarerin’s ability to commune with their Gods.
