@notstefaniepresley I can't respond to you, because your friend likely blocked me after deleting my response, so I'm sharing here:

LITERALLY LAUGHING MY ENTIRE FUCKING ASS OFF. this is truly incredible. The fact that you're not acknowledging the fact that Elvis dipped into his mothers diet pills to use them for the upper effects is astonishing, BEFORE HE EVEN WENT INTO THE ARMY, shows how much you've done your hard work researching this man. You all act like he was strapped down, and drugs were forced down his throat. We're all refusing to acknowledge the drug usage was 110% a decision he made, and it was a life altering one. But nonetheless, ELVIS AARON PRESLEY MADE THIS DECISION.

#1: I never said he wasn't responsible for his drug use. I said drug use doesn't occur in a vacuum. If you look at the opioid epidemic, as an example, are we or are we not holding pharmaceutical companies at least somewhat responsible? Elvis was an addict, I said that in my initial response, that was, again, deleted. P.S. This is true regardless of when he started taking meds/drugs of any type.

And the whole point of this post, since you refuse to take the 10 minutes it may take to read it. Is that Parker is not the super villain that everyone makes him out to be. It's putting the facts out there for the fans, or not I can't tell with the "one brain celled idiot" comment, to read and EDUCATE THEMSELVES. which you so stubbornly refuse to fucking do.

#2: However fortunately or not, I did read your friend's deranged post, which is why I felt comfortable responding. I also used the word "nuance," in my own post, which you ironically seemed to have ignored? I never called anyone a super villain. Referring to a figure you love as being an idiot is common Internet-speak, I'm not sure how old you are, but it's a term of endearment. Also, Elvis was a goofy idiot who did dumb shit all the time.

And YESSS. while we're on the topic of this HEAVILY DRAMATIZED MOVIE, it was just that. Theatrical and dramatized, so what we all need to do is not take this movie like it's the say all tell all of Elvis' life. It's a movie, it's meant to be theatrical, and meant to be dramatic. There are a lot of falsities in this movie, and we need to stop quoting it word for fucking word. No where in this post did she credit the movie for any of her findings. The movie portrayed him, in my opinion, as some super villain. Which all of you fake fans have taken right to heart.

#3: She doesn't have to "credit the movie," for her "findings" (a laughable choice of words) for me to take note of it. She references Tom Hanks, who portrayed Parker, which in turn, is referencing the film. Never once did I refer to the film as fact, I said "fictionalized biography." What's beautiful about fiction and film, however, is that they can use characters as stand-ins for other ideas and concepts, which was certainly at work in the 2022 movie. Parker was not merely a portrayal, he was a character and an ideological representation of many things, including capitalism. I'll pray for your critical thinking skills.
