While she may have been born a princess, Elyse acted like anything but. At least, most people would say so. Her idea of being a princess meant being able to protect her people. Therefore, from a young age she had trained with the guards of Corona to ensure that she was not only able to protect herself, but her subjects if need be. While her father opposed the idea originally, it was her mother that encouraged her to do so. Elyse had heard all of the stories from her mother growing up with Mother Gothel. The idea that someone could have broken into Corona in general was terrifying, but to think that they had stolen the princess and got away with it, well, that was all the more reason she needed to know self defense.
It wasn’t her idea to go to the Protection Palace. If it were up to her, she would be spending more time training at home to be there for her people. However, her father insisted after the family had a scare regarding her younger sister. Elyse wasn’t fond of the idea, as she saw it as running away when things got tough. However, seeing as she had no power to argue, she reluctantly went under her parents’ orders. She plans to continue training with the guards at the palace while there, and hopes that if the Gothel children do show up, she’ll be prepared to handle them herself.
