We were told she was a Carolina Dog. I thought she had a good chunk of Australian Cattle Dog in her. I’m honestly and truly surprised. Are we looking at the same dog??

But the huskies in her lines have some gene overlap, since, y’know. Purebreds. Either Kai’s husky dam and Callie’s lines are related (well, they are farther back no matter what given the history of Siberian huskies in the US), OR Callie’s so inbred that her daughter pulled gene segments from her that are responsible for this number. Kai is 0%, for reference. Chai is on the high end for a mixed breed because most are not crossed back into one of the parents’ breeds again. Compared to pures, she’s on the low coefficient of inbreeding side. One of my top project goals is high genetic diversity/low COI.
