That’s terrible! Your reaction and feelings are completely normal. It’s so so hard to deal with these things, Especially in a male dominated workplace no less. I would have done and felt the same way; froze up, unsure what to do. Not sure of the line between professionalism and standing up to coworkers. It’s frickin scary. Maybe you can talk privately with an HR person if you have that there. If not, maybe others can give advice, like ACLU or a message board. Your gods won’t ever abandon you <3
It would be so much easier if we had an HR department/person, but we’re such a small company, the closest we have is going directly to the CEO (and he’s also a misogynistic pig). I think I will take a look at local ACLU resources, though. Thank you so much <3

Our gods know they ask for a lot when they want us to stand up for and take pride in ourselves. I do not think that conflict-avoidance is at odds with that, because you are taking care of yourself. You cannot control the reactions of others when you communicate your grievances, and that is frightening especially in the work place. From what I can tell, your gods never need to be disappointed because you are hard enough on yourself. They know you try. <3 You are enough.
I’m torn between ugly crying and laughing here because I totally needed that reminder and it’s one that they’ve also tried to drill into me over and over again. So thank you for unwittingly echoing them, I guess? <3
