The last few weeks were a blur with helping her father figure out everything after her mom passed. She might have been upset with him, but she couldn’t let him go through all of it alone. But dealing with one issue turned into too many, needing the short getaway to at least leave most of the stress behind. One aspect weighed on her mind, saving it for later when the timing felt right. “This was a much needed break, and thank you for not letting me spend this holiday alone.”

The spa looked the same it did when he came the first time around, only now he looked like himself and not Belle. He sat next to Emerson, relaxing into the chair with his eyes closed. “This was much needed, and I feel like we haven’t seen each other in awhile.”

Her eyes couldn’t leave the beautiful baby girl in her arms, marveling at the tiny being. It had been a complete shock to return to her body already in labor, taking the short time she had to let Emerson know. Jemma knew he was probably pissed, the guilt still there for taking eight months to tell him. She wouldn’t keep the birth from him too. Finally, her eyes glanced up at the man next to the bed, a smile on her face no matter how tired and dysfunctional she looked. “Isn’t she beautiful? I can’t believe she’s finally here.”
