Okay so I honestly think Kita would win just by how practiced he’d be? He wouldn’t panic during the fight, his mental is just THAT good. And technique wise, would absolutely be flawless. There’s just no blind spots in Kita’s book. Kita would be best in an medium endurance match, enough time to assess the other person’s strengths and weaknesses, then carry out a plan to execute. He’ll probably not last well in long endurance matches though. 

Akaashi seems like a medium endurance sort of person too, mostly not out of choice though...he doesn’t seem to be a heavy hitter, and is an analytical fighter too. Endurance is alright, and overall strong mental constitution, but compared to Kita, he might just be a smidgeeee not quite there. And that translates to X_X on the arena.....

And in all seriousness, whoever has the Halo of the Main Lead ™ will undoubtedly win HAHAHAHAHAHA it just works that way.

If Kita Shinsuke is the main character, the Kita x Akaashi fight would prollllly not be significant and Akaashi is likely fodder.

If Akaashi were the the main character, Kita would be that unmoving champion he’d have to overcome. The underdog who no one believes, finds strength and evolves about 3/4 way through the losing fight, and manages to somehow catch Kita in suprrise, and pulverise him and win the fight. Crowd gasps in shock and confusion how Kita Shinsuke could have fallen but alas.

Hmm this is an interesting question!! (long thoughts under cut)

I don't think so. It's pretty normal, I think, for people to get "normal" jobs and move in "normal" careers after high school sports and clubs. For the typical bunch, this makes sense.

The closest to a surprise would maybe be Kuroo? But also not really. He seemed to have the talent to at least be V2, but I always felt that his dynamic with Nekoma is really really team-based, less so his own love to pursue volleyball. In other words, he always liked the volleyball community more than himself playing volleyball? Does that make sense lol. So it makes sense that he's involved with the marketing dept of the volleyball association to help expand the community and increase awareness for the sport. To go pro, I think more than hardwork and talent, the athlete needs a bit of selfishness and ambition--as an individual athlete and player. (blue lock fans don't come at me i totally didn't read past ch 15)

Maybe Iwa would also be a little bit of a surprise? But I think he's kinda in a similar vein with Kuroo. Technically as a wing spiker, I think he is still a bit lacking compared to the others. He loves sports. He's definitely an athlete. He does love volleyball, but it isn't that same ambitious drive that Oikawa and the other V1 players have. So, involved with volleyball but not as an athlete? As a trainer? Totally makes sense.

Drive and Hunger really play a role. Like perhaps Noya had that pro-level ability, but he doesn't have that ambition to continue, wanting to see and explor more of the world outside of volleyball. The same with Osamu's talent, but he says he "loves volleyball a little less than Atsumu" and finds another path instead.

But look at Hinata! He's so incredibly desperately chasing after volleyball. Driven, obsessed, crazy, those can all describe him. I think to go pro, you do need to be a little mad haha, in addition to hard work and talent. Like Oikawa too. And Hoshiumi. They have guts XD

Hmm going back to your question, I'm actually surprised by how many of the HQ characters went pro. Maybe some are juggling a job and V2, some scrape by with V2 pay, a lot of those athletes... like Daishou and Tsukki and Kyoutani for instance, I suppose would really have to love volleyball to keep going, even though they know they aren't the most top tier.

Ah I just think about Atsumu's face beaming with pride, "Because I'm a setter!" Hinata's look of awe when he finally receives a ball perfectly. Hoshiumi's enjoyment feeling like he's in his element....totally going off tangent now. Hahaha, but those moments are all individual athlete and sport. Not team. Team is so important, but these individual athletes have something very special between themselves and the ball/court. I think that special something is what makes them turn pro and pursue volleyball professionally.
