Kieren Avery was not one for public displays of affection or concern, he was barely one for private displays, or expressions, or anything really. However, they were living in strange times, and even though Kieren doubted that neither he nor any of the people he cared for would be on the proverbial chopping block as Aubrey had been, the murder still had him on edge. Though as strange as he felt, Emma clearly felt worse. That much was written in the lines on her face, the slumping of her shoulders, the nervous movements of her hands. All this, for once, actually brought Kieren to her side in the Slytherin Common Room.
“Hey,” He sat down next to her, stiff and uncomfortable, “How--How are you feeling?”
