It’s New Orleans and it’s waffles split in half, a bathroom with no toilet paper and heat that makes me want to vomit, or maybe it’s the alcohol or the cigarettes or the mushrooms or the long group text in my phone right before dinner that made me not hungry but eat so fast it felt like there was no silverware. Fingers to mouth fingers to mouth. Giggling in the background and two rings stacked on that finger after a funeral and after a marriage. One finger, my middle finger, is missing a nail. And I think for a second to hide it behind my glass. I look down at my fingers like extendo dicks with the long nails on kind of like the way a sex icon is — lovely to the eyes but difficult to fuck with.
