John Phillips: “There are hardly any apples in this apple pie...”
Daniel: “So what? There are hardly any dogs in dog biscuits, either!”
John: “Tonight I’ll take Caroline to a fancy dinner, because I inherited money from a cousin once removed!”
Daniel: “Interesting. How did you remove them?”
Dinner party at the Phillips.
Caroline: “...and when you serve the piglet, don’t forget to put a slice of lemon in the mouth and parsley behind the ears!”
Daniel: “Will do, but don’t you think I will look very silly like that?”
Daniel: You shouldn’t use a straw.
Emma: I know, it’s bad for the environment or whatever.
Daniel: No, it’s just a weird way to eat lasagna.
Daniel: “I have to go now, plan world-domination, shoot my owners and whatever the modern deviant is doing this year.”
Gavin: “You’re going to slip. And then I’ll get you!”
A little later...
Gavin: “Aw, poor chess computer! Feel like crying?”
Gavin (internally): No way! What sick bastard programs an android to simulate being sad after a loss? That’s emotional manipulation of the worst kind! Like when your parents tell you the carrots are sad when you don’t eat them.
Gavin: “Walking off the calories?”
Daniel: “I have routing failure! This isn’t funny!”
Gavin: “And now?”
Daniel: “I honestly have no idea. I didn’t even realize I had a notepad on me when I left home!”
Gavin: “Dude, you should see a mechanic. Deviance is the least of your problems!”
I knew of course that restaurants are borked, but never before experienced it that drastically. But with Daniel being an android, the game’s glitches could just as well be real in-story.
As expected sometime after their first meeting Gavin called, asking Daniel out for dinner. Sims are just that predictable. They sat down in selvadoradan-themed restaurant with roast chicken, beer, iced thirium and much nervousness.
Daniel: “What’s the matter?”
Gavin: “Just making sure no one gives us funny looks. People might think this is a date or something, when I’m just investigating a case of android deviance.”
Daniel: “Tell me all about the handsome deviant!”
