Rising Star
Chapter 8

Jackson went back to LA, and Lucy had to admit that she was beginning to miss him. She’d been spending this week, mostly by herself. Per Angela and Nyla’s request, they wanted to cool down public appearances, not wanting to do too much. So Lucy had hardly seen Tim since the impromptu photoshoot with Jackson.
In his absence, she went to rehearsal, did some yoga, and for the first time since she lived in Los Angeles, she added a photo to her house. Jackson had sent her a very rough photo of her and Tim laugh mid shot. She couldn’t help but put it up, it was a good memory.
He had breakfast delivered this morning and told her to be ready by five for Aaron’s party. Aaron Thorsen was a well-known socialite and a friend of Tim. Lucy was excited, she never really went to big star-studded parties, so she was excited to see what the fuss was about.

You probably know that some of The Rookie cast has acted with each other before, but it's interesting in what ways. (Sorry for the Lucy & Nolan in the beginning.)
From the way Lucy is as a person a sort of forgive and move on type I understand her forgiving chris and thinking I'm not gonna be triggered anymore I'm taking control. A nice touch would be if she heard that song with Tim again and he comforts her. He's either watched the video or she told him as he knew instantly when Rosalind started singing. They're getting her to a I don't need any man so therefore her relationship with Tim will be healthier. Not trauma based and shes her own person
Hi lovely anon!
I see why she forgave Chris too, it’s in character for Lucy to do so. Do I like it? Not exactly, but it’s in character so I can’t complain.
I’d love for Lucy and Tim to create a new, GOOD memory to that song.
Exactly, they’re getting Lucy to that final part of the cliff. After that, her and Tim will jump off the cliff together into a relationship.
The trauma is why I wasn’t fond of Lucy/Emmett when we had them, I think Lucy was avoiding said trauma then. Now, she’s facing it and healing, which is good!
I've tried a little bit of everything
To start again with someone new...
But every time a path seems promising
It leads me right back here to you.
Yeah, she’s gonna get married
Chapter: 1/4
Pairings: Lucy Chen/Emmett Lang, Lucy Chen/Tim Bradford (pining)
Summary: Lucy gets engaged. Tim is happy for her, really. No, really, he is.
The only thing bigger than the ring on Lucy’s finger when she comes back to work after a couple of days off is the smile on her face. Jackson points it out first, but Tim thinks it feels a little bit like cheating, because there’s no way she hadn’t told him the minute it had happened. Still, it sends everyone flocking across the bullpen to look at the sparkling diamond and offer their congratulations.
Tim follows the group, absently squeezing Lucy’s shoulder and offering to meet her and Jackson for lunch. It’s been close to a year and a half since she’s been partnered with him every day, but they’ve stayed close. If anything, they’re closer now than they were before, since their time together isn’t department-mandated anymore. Now they’re grabbing lunch on shift, or a drink or three after, or a Saturday morning run with Kojo, just because they enjoy each other’s company.
Other than maybe Angela, it’s the best friendship he’s got right now.
Which is why he hasn’t let himself do anything stupid to ruin it. Something like, say, interrupting one of Lucy’s stories about whatever grand romantic gesture Emmett pulled off this week, and telling her that he's been gone over her since she was still his rookie. There are so many reasons it wouldn’t have worked then, starting with the whole rookie-thing, ending with how recent things still felt with Isabel, and everything in between. He’d dated her best friend, saved her life (and worried about a rescue romance if he’d started anything right after).
Then she’d started seeing Emmett. Emmett the firefighter, who respected her boundaries and brought her bagels and flowers on her mornings off, and one time, surprised her on a scene by pulling a lollipop out of his uniform pocket and slipping it into her palm when he didn’t think anyone was looking.
Except Tim had been looking. Because Tim is always looking at Lucy. Because he’s been wrapped up in her orbit longer than he cares to think about.
It would never work out between them, not then and not now, but it’s never stopped him from wondering what it would be like if it did.
And now she’s showing up at work, a shiny new diamond on her finger, and Tim has to smile at her like any good friend would, pretend like it’s not killing him inside.
