Omegaverse time. What are your ideas for the primes and expops’ second genders?
Omegaverse HCs
Leland Coyle - Alpha
Self explanatory – super aggro macho man who thinks he’s top dog and always needs control.
As if he wasn’t already stinky enough with his lack of hygiene, his pheromones make him even smellier.
Has 100% accidentally gotten his knot stuck in a mannequin during a rut before.
Mother Gooseberry - Repressed Omega
Grew up an omega, but her DID interfered with the development of her secondary gender traits (infrequent heats, lack of slick production, etc.) and ultimately stopped altogether after her jailing.
Retained care instincts.
Displays alpha behaviors when acting as Dr. Futterman.
Franco Barbi - Omega
Insecure about his second gender and is aggressive towards all males.
Obsessed with female alphas.
Fears getting pregnant and is frustrated by not being able to knot and impregnate partners.
Liliya Bogomolova - Alpha
Strongest pheromones of the Sinyala alphas. Seems to create mass hysteria among omegas in the facility.
Heavily possessive and has claiming marks over several of her followers.
On rut suppressants due to increased danger to staff when in season.
Kress Twins - Beta/Alpha Intersex
Arora is a beta and Otto is an alpha, but because of their anatomy, the hormones wind up fluctuating/cancelling out.
Otto does occasionally get ruts, but they are generally weak and he is unable to properly knot.
Arora is mildly affected by the rut hormones and does display some alpha traits like a small knot and increased aggression.
Pitcher - Alpha
Aggressive, commandeering, and intimidating.
Highly disciplined compared to the other alphas. Frequently delays his ruts via higher gasoline consumption and burning his glands in order to maintain clarity and focus on his devotion to the fire goddess.
Extremely picky about choosing mates.
Pusher - Omega
Adorable effeminate lil guy.
Crazy nesting habits. Largest nests of all the omegas.
Increased frequency of heats due to the psychosis drugs.
Night Hunter - Alpha
The experimentation on him resulted in a permanent rut state.
Constant extreme aggression, increased stamina, and heightened senses as a result.
Wants to claim omegas as his own, but always winds up killing them because he goes to mark them and instead winds up biting a huge chunk out of their neck.
Berserker - Beta
Beta pumped with artificial alpha hormones to increase his stature and aggression.
Has a small knot, but can’t knot like a proper alpha.
In between doses, he is more mild and calm mannered.
Haha thank you! And oh god, I hope you're ready. If you know anything about me, I'm going to be VERY annoying and yap so much if you ask me a question like that lmaooo (Forgive me. I can never organize my thoughts in a concise manner, and it always turns into the world's longest posts 😆)
I'll be writing this mostly under the assumption that you already read Franco's comic and know about Outlast Trials (But if not and you're just a random person who happened to come across my weird art and wanted to know more, whoops sorry 😂 Uhh long story short, the official canon is that Franco is a violent man baby who is the son of a mafia don named Salvatore. Franco ends up getting into a relationship with Angelina, his father's fourth wife who is only a couple years older than him, before being beaten and exiled after Salvatore finds out.)
I've done some of my own research in order to characterize Salvatore, Angelina, and Franco during this time period since the official lore never goes into a whole lot of detail on everything. Angelina in particular has such little information in canon (I'm still in disbelief that we didn't even get a single line of dialogue from her, so there's no way to even tell what her personality was like!), but I've had a lot of fun building up my own interpretations about her relationship with Franco in the meantime 🤩
I've always had this idea that Angelina is the first and only person that Franco has ever actually fallen in love with, and there's a tragedy in the fact that it's the one person he shouldn't be with, at the risk of both her and him being killed for it.
Throughout his life, Franco's relationship with women has only ever consisted of those that have been paid to put up with him (Various nannies that Salvatore had watching over him when he was a kid and hookers during his teens and early twenties, while the rest of Salvatore's mistresses and partners ignored and avoided him for the most part, out of disgust and fear, due to his appearance and behavior).
By the time Angelina shows up in the picture during his early twenties, Franco already has a lot of built up resentment towards women as a whole. His impotency and insecurities has resulted in him murdering numerous sex workers over the years, and he's especially sensitive to the fact that none of the women he's been with sexually have ever actually been attracted to him or seen him as anything more than a walking, talking wallet. Not only that, but he's never witnessed what a healthy and loving relationship with a woman looks like, as he grew up normalizing his father mistreating and murdering his lovers, even down to accepting from an early age that Salvatore had killed his birth mother.
Because of this, when Angelina first married Salvatore, Franco initally misinterpreted her as being a "gold-digging whore like all the others," only to gradually realize over time that she never actually wanted to marry Salvatore, and she had little say in the matter. She was the daughter of a mobster herself and was used as a tool for the men in her family to work their way up the totem pole. In fact, she's not much better off than Franco is when it comes to dealing with his abusive father, so they can understand one another's struggles in that regard. They both have their roles to play, with Franco serving as his father's button man and Angelina having no choice but to be trapped as a trophy wife in an unhappy marriage.
(Old unfinished sketch by me. Fun fact: I've mostly drawn Angelina with black hair in the past because I like the contrast it makes between her and Franco (her with dark colored outfits and hair, him with his white suit and blonde hair). I may or may not start drawing her blonde in newer pieces. I kinda just do whatever I want with her design at this point tbh 😂)
I'm incredibly flexible with my own ideas on how their relationship first started, so I won't say anything too concrete other than the fact that I personally believe Franco was the one to initiate it, since mafia women during the 50s could be killed for their infidelity, and Salvatore's earlier wives were likely killed for much less, so I personally doubt that she would have felt safe enough to be the one to first cross that line.
In any case, their relationship does end up taking a sexual turn where they both learn more about themselves and their desires, and Angelina is put into a position of power for once as a femdom towards a submissive Franco. To the outside world, she is the young and pretty, demure and obedient wife of the infamous Salvatore Barbi and Franco is 'Il Bambino', Salvatore's violent and deadly son.
Lol meanwhile behind closed doors...
I personally reeeally like the messiness and complexity of the relationship, so I think Angelina herself has mixed feelings on it, at times.
The best way I can describe is it "When things are good, it's great. And when things get bad, it gets reeeally fucking bad."
Some days, she may love the Franco who's a romantic and showers her in gifts and praise, while other days, she hates him and sees him as an extension of his father, another violent monster in the making. There's a lot of push and pull between them where she may be "in charge" in the bedroom, but she's still frightened by Franco's fits of rage and how quickly he can go from being submissive and begging for her attention to him threatening her or calling her a whore whenever he gets upset or feels that he's been slighted by her. Whenever she has to prioritize Salvatore over him (even if it's just to keep up appearances), that feels like the biggest betrayal to Franco.
Franco is incredibly possessive of Angelina and gets jealous easily (He even displays rage and jealousy towards her dog, seeing it as competition for her attention). A lot of the time, he'll purposefully do things to push her buttons because the masochistic part of him gets off on her losing her temper with him (He lovesss all that attention from her, even negative, after a lifetime of being rejected and ignored). Franco is also the only one who gets to see that side of her, which makes it feel all the more special to him.
Franco tries his best to be romantic and charismatic with Angelina, spoiling her with gifts and dates to buy her love. A lot of his romantic behavior towards her is rooted in him trying to prove to himself that she loves ~him~ more than Salvatore, so if he sees her wearing some jewelry he bought for her or if he does something with her that Salvatore hasn't before, he considers that a "win" in his book and evidence that she's "his" and only he gets to see the "real" Angelina (I say this so often, but YES. Franco has an Oedipus Complex and you cannot convince me otherwise!)
I feel that their relationship only lasted a couple of years before Salvatore finally ended up learning the truth about the affair (Franco isn't very subtle, so I can imagine one of Salvatore's men might have caught onto how close and affectionate Franco was getting with Angelina, especially whenever his father was away 👀)
Surprising no one, Salvatore lost his shit and killed Angelina, just as he had with his previous wives, punishing her for her infidelity. But murder alone wasn't enough. Not after the humiliation of learning his wife had been cheating on him for years with his own son. Which is where my short little comic comes in 😅
Franco had absolutely no idea what was waiting for him and looked forward to spending time with her just like any other day... so imagine the complete horror and dread he must have felt upon the sight of his lover's bloody head alongside her favorite pair of heels 🥲
This leaves Franco feeling completely raw and exposed. The idea of his father knowing the exact details of his intimate relationship with Angelina, even down to the humiliating, emasculating bits? Horrifying. And worse, Angelina isn't even there with him to face the music together. He's alone and scared with nowhere to run to and no one to comfort him, and he knows whatever awaits him from his father is going to seriously fucking hurt.
Even to this day, I like to think that he is still haunted by the memory of Angelina and the consequences of the affair. He had fully expected his father to kill him for it alongside her, so imagine his utter confusion at being spared from the same fate. Could Salvatore letting him live actually be an incredibly rare act of love from the father he had always sought the approval of and thought had hated him his whole life? Franco will never know. Now that he's been exiled, he'll never be able to see or speak to his father again... Nor his beautiful Angel 💔
I need more people to see liliya as evil she is not more morally correct 😭 she is not the ‘safe’ option for you to call your favorite character or a mary sue! On top of all the violence and manipulation she’s a sexual sadist and masochist, implied trafficker, and hypocrite. She’s no different than any of the other primes.
It’s a common theme i’ve noticed with all the women in outlast where they’re labeled as less morally incorrect or reduced to an archetype, causing the complexities of their character to be ignored.
Did Red Barrlels just kinda forget that Easterman’s ex-wife is also named Irene when they named Leland Coyle’s dead wives or did they just think it’s funny?
I really can’t stand the narrative that coyle is the least interesting prime asset or that he’s under developed compared to the others. He’s always been the one i find the most interesting psychologically/narratively, it’s just that a lot of his character, especially his childhood, aren’t as out in the open as they are with the other prime assets. All of the prime assets are extremely well written and developed, it wouldn’t be outlast if they weren’t.
