Captain Fire Lance is the Emperor's Flames Fleet Master. The Fleet itself is comprised of the Litany of Immolation and its support craft. But the captain takes his role very seriously. He is technically in charge of the chapter's fastest vehicle. His personal steed is Charybdis, an Assault Bike he won off a Champion of Khorne in a joust to the death. Officially it has been resanctified and is free of all chaos taint. Unofficially it has swallowed whole three cultists, two orks and an unlucky serf. This model is one I've been holding off on. I converted it early on, but I wanted to really do the paint job justice. Month 3! Let's give it up for Month 3 of the Slow Grow! I had to skip month 2 because someone *cough* @ashleynicholegibbs *cough* ended up dragging me to the BBG to see the totally awesome sakuras and I totally wouldn't have gone there on my own. Totally! Anyway, skipping month 2 meant I had two months to paint my army. Which of course means that I had a week to paint 2 months worth of miniatures and ended up just priming everyone black and calling it a day. Went to the Carcosa Club for day 1 of month 1 of 40K Slow Grow 2 last Saturday. My army isn't painted to my liking, but I managed to get it up to tabletop standard at least. I intend to stick with the deadlines this time around. I was the last person there, so I had to miss the first round. We were so packed that there wasn't a table left. It's not exactly a big space, but packed wall to wall with tables. So that's still pretty impressive. Anyway I lost the second round to Blood Angels and the Fourth to Genestealers. But I did manage to massacre some Eldar in round 3. So I'm happy. Some more space marines. These ones are an Intercessor Squad with Auto Bolt Rifles. No sergeant since they're an addition to my existing squad. I've been meaning to give them Starcraft like astronaut helmets for some time. The army's finally coming together. Decided to merge my 2 5 man tactical squads into 1 10 man squad. So I painted up a heavy plasma marine and a bolter marine. Tacticals aren't really meta right now, but getting 3 plasma weapons on a troop choice is just crazy enough to work. Oh, and I finally got some Scale 75 paints. Yeah, I see why everyone likes them so much. And now back to our regularly scheduled miniatures. These guys are a heavily modified Tartaros Terminator Squad. My thinking being that the Flames wouldn't have the parts necessary to keep the more advanced suits running for long. So they'd have replaced them with substandard alternatives over the centuries. Sadly the Tartaros Terminators aren't in the game anymore. So I'll probably just run them as a normal squad. These models are actually the first time I tried freehanding flames. I think it worked out well.
