This exhibit at the Phoenix Art Museum opens on November 6 and runs through January 16 of next year. It is the donation of a couple who ran Emphatics, a boutique in Pittsburgh and includes everything from garments to accessories to videos of runway shows. You can see in the blue dress above from Thierry Mugler in silk taffeta from 1985. Other designers featured include Alexander McQueen, Issey Miyake, John Galliano, Romeo Gigli (my favorite), Alaia and Jean Paul Gaultier. It is to quote the museum, a celebration of “the enormous creativity of fashion from 1963-2013 in a dynamic, multi-media installation.” Sounds like fun.
