Did you know that the Empress Cicada (Megapomponia imperatoria) is the largest known cicada in the world? Its head-body length measures up to 7cm and the wingspan often gets to an impressive 20cm. These are common sights in the rainforests of the Malay Peninsula. Their chirps are quite loud as their tymbals are also quite large.
