i will never forgive kishimoto. neji’s death served no purpose whatsoever. no character death has made me this mad before. he focused so much on hyuuga clan’s disgusting clan laws and the fact that it had to be changed, then gave us snippets of the clan’s condition, O YEA hizashi died in ya dad’s place, hinata’s kinda heiress again, naruto’s promise to change their ways, the blatant torture/slavery of branch members all for in the end he throws naruhina in our faces and expects us to gobble it all down and shake off the more pressing matters like how NON OF THAT WAS SOLVED OR REMOTELY ADDRESSED like FUCK kishimoto that manga had so much political philosophy only to give that all up and resort to pairing fodder. FUCK THIS
like the only way neji found liberation was to follow in his father’s footsteps WHICH WAS AN AWFUL THING FROM THE START, i hate this so much it makes me SO ANGRY he was such a talented shinobi and his character development was superb, the nejihina relationship was just beautiful and YA HAD TO KILL HIM OFF TO MAKE NARUHINA HAPPEN WHAT THE LITERAL FUCK IS THIS
FUCK NARUHINA
FUCK KISHIMOTO
FUCK NARUTO IN GENERAL
the hyuuga clan has such potential, they’re already crazy powerful, they should have used that to their advantage instead of sealing off every unimportant member. fuck the hyuuga clan, like y’all can’t create a seal that protects ALL of the clan members’ eyes without the side of torture?????
what makes me so mad, so sososooo mad, is that ppl actually swallowed all that shit up purely bc their pairings made endgame, but all the important subplots and running themes???? who cares right. who fucking cares.
fuck shonen jump for forcing an abrupt ending, fuck kishimoto for complying, and fuck studio perriot for turning hinata into a fucking trophy and for rendering all her development invalid just bc they have a gross disgusting fetish for her
i just can’t seem to come to terms with this, i’m legitimately hurt, this series was the only constant in my life for so long even in the worst times of my life, it’s what carried me through, and knowing, without a doubt, that kishimoto sold out his beautiful story fucking hurts
naruto was not without flaws, no work of fiction is, but god fucking dammit did he have important lessons, messages, and morals. unfortunately those same philosophies didn’t seem to be strong enough in him to keep his series from crashing and burning.
